Default Gauges on the bonnet?

Just wondering what you guys think of 2 gauges on the bonnet or somewhere around there in black cups.

Im thinking.. Trans temp and something else.

Just wondering what people think, I havent seen many E Series with gauges on the bonnet.

Not looking at doing it anytime soon, after the car is painted I want to, here is a picture of my car, let me know what you think.

Open to opinions good or bad..

Thanks

Shite IMO

I thought the whole point of having it on the bonnet was for mechanical gauges that had vacuum lines and/or oil lines running to them, and even then..

I'm a fence sitter.

I've seen 1 ED on here that had bonnet gauges and it looks good, but I've seen other cars with them and they look crap.
They suit older cars better or new cars with mint paint jobs. I wouldnt do it with your colour or age of paint. Wait till you get new paint IMO.

they can look good or bad... it depends on the car...

my mate has a EL XR8, with chrome wheels and the chrome guages, and it looks tough., but yet some cars it looks stupid....

you'll just have to get a couple of the cups and sit them on there, and see if you like it or not..........

Go for it, i like the look of them, but yer i have seen cars were they just don't suit (i think they'd look silly on mine). Just dummy em up and see if you like em, if they don't suit chuck em in the interior some were instead.

Is that a Tacho with a Shift light on CMYWPN's bonnet.....?

They look good if you have the power to back up the need for them..........

i recon they look alright. there is not many places to put guages on an e-series legally so on the bonnet may be a good idea. saying the the guages have to reach at least half way on the read out (eg. have the power to back it up)

they look pretty good.
i would just be worried about A Holes ripping them off or ****em up just to be A Holes.
nice paint and the housing of the guages in the body colour with chrome outer rings on the guages would look nuts. i would also say the back light colour should be similar to body colour as well.

Yeah do it! I wanted to put gauges on my bonnet but every spot I tried that looked good the bonnet would hit when it was up. So I put them on the dash instead. Bonnet gauges look tough.

Your old Doug but you still got taste man lol

Your gauges look good where they are but. I reckon Il put them on the bonnet after I get the car sprayed. Will look tough, especially when its really slammed on stock Ghia wheels.

Its a hard choice between the chrome and the black man. I dont like the chrome sometimes because they stand out wayyyyy to much. The black is more tough, they blend in from bar BUT you still know they are there.

Im going to go with the black if I do get them, 2 5/8 in size, and Autometer Cobalt series, nice blue dials. Will look tough as I reckon.

Trans temp gauge Id say is electrical.

And Id probably get.. Water temp, Oil pressure or something like that would would be mechanical?

Oh na Il get an AFR gauge, they look maddd

So Id say both would be electrical.

Not to much of a fan, I reckon there too much on the passenger side, too straight and also chrome doesnt do it for me tooo much.

More towards the driver would look better. But that could also look like that because of the way there taken.

Hey man

Yeah bonnet or pillar is another issue! lol

I think that LTD that John descibed had it on the pillar thing, but not to sure.

Both will look good, Id go for close to the pillar thing, but not to close, and facing the driver, sorta offset in the centre of the bonnet, but closer to the drivers side if you get what I mean... :

Hey put some pictures up once you've decided where you want them, or even just when your trialing, take a couple of pictures.

Keen to see how they would look.
