So who's going?
I was spewing when it became biannual and even moved across the border! But I did go every year and some years it was a bit ho-hum so I am actually looking forward to this years. I thought it would be interesting to see what peoples expectations are of Ford. This is a massive and timely opportunity to nail some presentations and reveals for FoA and I really hope they do well, if there has ever been a time its now. So three key cars stick out for me. 1. LiLPG - the system deserves attention and credit, Ford has been the lone solider for ages pushing LPG, although as no one else was really offering opposition they sat on the mixer system for a while. I hope they have a massive section devoted to debugging myths and showing perhaps a chart of cost savings etc 2. New Territory - its should do a pretty good job in its own right but this is just as key as the falcon itself to get right. Id pimp something out or even do an "offroad" concept to boost a bit of cred. 3. Ranger - I dont know what there profits will be like off this car but its a showcase of what FoA PD can do and is something that just doesnt get enough airtime. GMH do nothing even close to the level of this and no one knows about it which is a crying shame. The new Focus will be a pivotal car aswell, and hopefully FPV churn something out as it will give them some good exposure. Perhaps the fabled GT - H (whatever) will be there in concept form? An Allan Moffat special perhaps before he gets beyond the age of usability (with all due respect, great man). For me FG2 doesnt matter at the moment, it will be out in due course, its whats out now that needs a kick in the bum. My dream concept from Ford/FPV would be a Miami based Ranger, keeping in mind its a global car, not just for Oz only. Opportunity for FPV? Probably not..LOL Looking forward to it, if anyone gets any articles or updates to whats included in the show feel free to post it in here!

I was considering working on the Toyota stand but I found out yesterday that I would only get paid for it if I work on the Saturday or Sunday... and, well, Saturday is my best chance to actually sell cars at work and I don't work Sundays... so don't think I'll be doing it!
So no, probably won't go. Would be keen to check out this Black Edition from FPV.

I know the feeling, I worked on the Ford stand a few years ago and wow, you reckon we have know it all here (and atleast we can banter here...hehe)...its still a good opportunity to speak to people about the things we love.

I'll be going to have a look.
Pretty much to see the new stuff Ford has to offer. I guess we won't see a Ford branded V8 or EB as if they come out it'll be for FG2.

EB is massive too agreed, but I dont think they could juggle LiLPG and EB in the one show, one will take the spot light away from the other. It gives another story come FG2 aswell....so much good news to come!

The new Territory and gas Falcon are more important than FG2 in my opinion. If marketed well enough these should have a decent impact in sales.

I'd go if it was in Sydney. But I am not going to Melbourne for it.

I miss that!

From Ford's website..vehicles on show at Motor Show
http://www.ford.com.au/servlet/Satel...=1248913750050 Only two Falcons on display, mainly the small, medium cars on display. Doesn't look good for Falcon..I would have thought they would be pushing the Falcon?????????

The majority of the buying public are now buying small/medium cars. With the new Focus and the Fiesta Ford have 2 cars that are amongst the best in their respective classes.
I know people here concentrate largely on the Falcon but I think Ford will focus on those 2 cars plus the Mondeo and the Territory for a while yet.

Quite disappointing with the lack of FPV's there as well. Would have liked to go have a look at what's next in store there.
I'll go but I'm not sure I will find too much to excite me this year. New impreza will most likely put me to sleep. |

FPV advertising a GT-SVP plus the GS and GS Ute. That could be interesting, especially the GT.

I wonder if there'll be any surprises. The New Kuga would be an interesting addition to gauge public interest.
I'll be disappointed if there's no FGII, I remember them displaying the FG months before its release in 2008. Still, it's worth going for the Focus, Ranger, Territory and LiLPG. The Ford range is getting stronger and stronger.

Call me dumb but whats a GT-SVP? Is that what the GT-P is called nowadays?
I'm actually interested in seeing the new Focus so I'm happy they will have some of those on the stand.
