I want to bring a diff and 5 rims in from the US, does anyone have any leads for a good shipping company with reasonable prices. Will either be from California or Texas. Cheers

They have a price list you can look at on their website. http://usatoaus.com/index.html |

I use IPS Parcel service.
http://www.ipsparcel.com/ I have shipped wheels, brake rotors, big coil springs etc. They give you a florida mailing address and then ship on from there at discounted fedex air costs. It is also a good way to deal with sellers that don't post to international address.

Ship from California, close as possible to LongBeach [the port] so you wont get charged for inland freight charges If its over AUS$1k you are going to need a customs agent to clear it for you, no duty but GST is payable and all the paperwork charges If its LCL and going in a combined shipping container u are going to get raped when it arrives here, the charges these shysters on the wharf and others charge will add 50% to the value of your goods. Get the supplier to get you a air freight charge, it might seem more expensive at first but when u do the math the difference is not as large as first calculated and no waiting together with door to door service |

It is heavy, a Dana 60 and steel wheels. Time isn't really a massive problem, it for a restoration project. Value is well under 1K but just can't find what I need in Aus. I got one air freight quote, $2760..... wow. A mate over there is sourcing it from a wreckers for me so supplier can't ship.

When I was running my friends bussiness. To get a container full of rims from China to Aus it cost around $3000. To ship 1 set of rims it cost around $3000. So its sounds around the price I would expect. |
