Default Gps mount

Hi guys, I just got myself one of those sticky disks to mount my gps on the side of the centre consul, trouble is it won't stick to the plastic just slides off.
I've tried cleaning the plastic but same thing. Anyone got any ideas?

The few times I have used a GPS I have squeezed it in next to the rear vision mirror it's difficult to get it on but I think the best place for it. It will of course depend on the mounting bracket but the best spot if you mounting it on the windscreen.

I use belkin iphone mount ($39) which can be used with any mobile phone or GPS unit. I use it for my iphone which has tomtom gps (jailbroken ;)). Its adjustable and holds on to windscreen with suction disc. When mounted, phone sits between center A/c vents on dash and instrument cluster arch. It looks just perfect, easy to reach wont block vision. I will take a snap and post it when possible.
