Default AFF Top ten street/strip

How about it guys? can we start our own register for 1/4 mile achievements?

Top ten street/strip
(utes with deck lids missing, drag radials, pipes dropped, etc)

Top ten street
(the way its driven everyday, melways and spare included)

Top ten Pro
(Monza, SVO powered Falcons, Alex's GT??)

back it up with timeslips, etc, I think it could be a cool idea, especially with the upcoming meeting.......... : :eclipsee_ :eclipsee_

This is the problem, everyone will try to sneak into the 'everyday' driver category... Timeslips are essential but the categories need to be tweaked so it is black and white.

Everyone that claims a time should Post a ET ticket...
Or like the LS1 forum they have there’s valuated, then no one can knock you or criticize your ET.
i know OFR guy's post there ticket's..
If we get something underway, it should be left to your own cars ET, not my brothers car or my grandad run this ET in his bucket 5 years ago...your own current car..

Wonder if we could see about getting a times section on the forums where a timeslip has to be added?

Good idea, but as stated already it could be hard to totally/correctly gauge the times everyone has done, particularly in relation to what spec they have driven at whilst doing the time.

However there is no point really, number 1 on all areas would be my Imagination-Mobile anyway.

In the interim, we could always put up a sticky thread to be updated when new figures come in.
We might set a cut off for when we require copies of slips ... and if something sounds a bit generous ??
What do you guys think ??

Talking Drag times

Hello guys,
I'll open proceedings, my time sheet from the Ford v Holden drags at WSID a few weeks ago. How about categories like BA XR8 manuals, BA XR8 autos ETC, this way some of us my figure in top 10's. This would spur me onto being the fastest BA XR8 manual, just a thought. Hope to get back to WSID this Wednesday, weather permitting, MYV8(Chris) is hoping to be there too. I'd love it if it were a cold winter's night!

Hi Jeff, good idea, i think slips are important, also lets keep it simple..
Every member can put up a slip for the car they own...
We don’t want to start an argument over, mods, tyres and he had this, he did that.
They can leave the arguments at the race track.
If you like, I will start a list, in a weeks time I will have many time slips complied by then with a list ready for sticky and I can update as we see the time slips..

OK 1 thing though is this going to be street, meaning cars that are actually driven on the street 'in full view of police and vicroads' or 'street driven round the block for tuning b4 a meet'???

I think this is the most important thing to clarify, XC460 that is a gr8 time time no doubt but how registerable 'seriously' is your car???

This should all be taken into account.

Lets not turn this into a competition XC460 is a member here has a very nice fast Ford, I can’t see why he can’t have a time on the list...
A ET slip is about drag racing shouldn't matter what car people use for racing.
This is a drag racing chart we want to get going.
In the drag racing forum.
i cant see why, we cant have everyone's ET on the list..

My car is fully reged , but rarely ever gets used on roads as engine is on methanol and takes too much to convert it over eg.. parachute and wheelie bars ect.... Car is legal to run in pro street aspirated and super stock eliminator in a/ms or k/sk....so what are the final requirements going to be for our classes for our cars to fit into .... my car is still factory weight and has full exhaust and interior ect......

I would like to see a list with everything on it regardless of whether it's 'proper' street or what.
As for classes, I think that isn't as important as just getting out there and having a go.
A mention was made of nit picking ... like whether someone took their spare out and stuff like that ... rather than get all worked up .. a suggestion ( and example ) for classes is :
Boss Standard , Boss Modified, Boss Forced Induction. 6 Cyl Stock, 6 Cyl modified and 6 Cyl Forced induction. All of these are street classes.. this means tyres that will get RWC in EVERY state of Australia.. Otherwise they go into a Generic 'Competition Class' regardless of what they are.

As for validation .. it's always a sticky point ... we should see slips for all runs if possible but even this is open to scamming.

Just some thoughts.

PS... We are working on a way to have a proper database

Jeff looks ok as long as everyone can have there time put down..
Ok guys send your time slips to me xrfpv8@iprimus.com.au with your AFF user name, or post them here...
And we will get this going until we have a permanent time slip forum up and running.
