Default BA to FG towbar swap

Does anyone know if the towbar from a BA wagon will swap over to an FG?
The suppliers have them listed as the same part but just thought I'd ask before I get under there and find out the hard way.

No. Wagon is different to sedans. BA to FGX sedan use the same towbar. AU to BF11 wagon use the same towbar. AU to FGX ute use the same towbar.

I have an FGII ECOLPI sedan and I had the towbar fitted at the dealer.
I am not sure what the difference is but there are different part numbers for the Petrol and ECOLPI models.

Gas has a different side leg, due to the rail differences for the tank mounts.
I got a BA one for my FG LPi.

LPi is the same towbar mounting arrangement as the e-gas towbar on BA-BF & earlier FGs (up to 10/2010 when e-gas was discontinued).

The only difference between the BA & FG ones that I found with mine, is the anti-rattle bolt that clears a BA/BF rear bar, fouls on the FG due to the different profile of the bar (it sits out firther from the body at the bottom where it fits around the towbar neck).

also don't stress about cutting the hole in the bar, the bar has a template cast in so i just cut it our with a stanley knife after using a step drill for the corners
also there are no threads in the mounting holes so you are supposed to use self tapping bolts with a gun, i used a tap to make the threads as i didn't know this when i installed mine
and don't forget the loom that plugs into the right tail light, i made a loom but for the amount of work just buy one or get one from a wrecker
