Default caffeine levels in coffee flavoured milk drinks

Just wondering if anyone knows what levels of caffeine are in your typical coffee flavoured milk drinks?

Is there any point in these drinks if its caffeine your actually after?

I have a Farmers Union here and the only info I can get is "product made with coffee, which contains caffeine". Well thankyou Mr.Informative.

Are we talking stuff all as its just the flavour in these things?

According to the company, both the original variety and the Light flavours contain approximately 18 mg of caffeine per 100 mL, while the Farmers Union Strong Iced Coffee contains 24 mg.

Hmm so how much would be in a standard cappuccino? Or is that dependent on beans etc?

My wife drinks Breaka Iced Coffee - it doesn't say anything on it about containing caffeine.
We have a newborn and it doesn't affect him.

I thought it said on the bottle. Normally it will be the same as a coffee.
I know those energy drinks say they are.

It should give you a % on them...The icebreak says 0.05% and the double shot says 0.1% (if memory serves correctly). It should be in the ingredients section...as far as I knew because it did contain caffeine, it's required by law to have it (that's what I'm led to believe anyway...)

INGREDIENTS: REDUCED FAT MILK (95%)
(1.6% MILK FAT), SUGAR, COFFEE (0.5%)

Ta wiki:

The stimulant effect of coffee is due to its caffeine content. The caffeine content of a cup of coffee varies depending mainly on the brewing method, and also on the variety of bean.

According to Bunker and McWilliams (J. Am. Diet. 74:28–32, 1979), coffee has the following caffeine content:

brewed: 1 cup (7 oz, 207 ml) = 80–135 mg.
drip: 1 cup (7 oz, 207 ml) = 115–175 mg.
espresso: 1 shot (1.5–2 oz, 45–60 ml) = 100 mg

While the percent of caffeine content in coffee beans themselves diminishes with increased roast level, this does not hold true for the same coffee brewed from different grinds and brewing methods using the same proportion of coffee to water volume. The coffee sack (similar to the French press and other steeping methods) extracts more caffeine from dark roasted beans, while the percolator and espresso methods extracts more caffeine from light roasted beans.

0.5% coffee doesnt mean caffeine exactly does it?

Ive binned the container but I am sure it didnt have a %..just mentioned there was coffee in it, which is why I was curious, because if it was the same as having an espresso/cappuccino then ill swap now and then. But my main reason for having it was the caffeine.

Go the espresso...guaranteed more caffeine content...! Gets you buzzing

There's a recommendation of how many cups of coffee you should have a day too...I think it was about 3 as a max? (don't quote me, I'm not 100%)

That’s right, it's just saying the % of coffee added for flavour, not the caffeine content of said coffee...

I just noticed...the Icebreak bottles don't even say contains caffeine...It says 'coffee flavoured', so either the caffeine is negligible...or...well...they just haven't said it...

Ill put my money on it being 100% artificial flavouring.

There have been many studies. The latest study shows that coffee is good for you. And in men, it reduces the risk of prostate (or was it testicular?) cancer.

The body tends to get used to caffeine over time reducing the effect anyway. Any negatives are negligable.
