Default 2010 RS Focus

Has anyone heard any news about the RS Focus coming to Australia later this year? Maybe 200 or so.

By FOA/FPV and not a private importer?

These cars if they arrive here will be via Ford Australia - not sure if they will come under FPV as they are not a big fan of the RS brand. Private Imports will no doubt appear in the future. We (RSOC) have a NSW member who has a mk1 Focus RS arriving in the next few weeks from the UK.
There may only be one car per dealer, so actually buying the car may be difficult as the demand may be higher than the supply.

Not FPV at all.

1 per dealer is correct.

Unlikely to get a choice of the colour that the dealer gets.

Very limited numbers

By the time Ford AUS announce it, I think you'll find deposits already on most of them if not all.

Should be here next 2 months.

Yes I was even lucky enough to see them and a horde of RS500's at le Mans, I was in france for the past month and lucky for me the event fell while I was there.

They look great and its a cool idea by Ford France.

I was a guest of the sponsor of the FPV F6 Typhoon that ran at Eastern Creek 6 Hour Race last weekend. Mr. Barrett, FPV M.D. was one of the driver's and I had all intentions of querying him on his thoughts about the RS in Oz but as everyone was flat-out prepping the Typhoon I didn't get a chance. Bummer!

Hey Sno, I would very much like the opportunity to see the Mk1 RS. Think the owner will be showing it (either at the A.F.D. or Small Ford Sunday)?

Wonder if you can buy the add-on pack to make the RS an RS500 equivalent minus that sweet satin black finish out here? It's available through dealers in the UK as a genuine parts option. Would make you feel less guilty about modding such a rare car.

I saw a swag of RS's whilst I was in Europe last month.
I swooned every time.

All this RS news is fantastic for both Australia and the Focus. If we end up with an RS here, it will be the 1st since the 1981 RS2000 sold out, except for private imports. We are also hoping for the RS Fiesta to also hit our shores when available.

The private import Focus Mk 1 is still a few weeks away - It may make it to the RSOC concourse in Sydney in November if the owner brings it along. Dates for this event will be on the Ford RS Owners of Australia website.

Thanks for the NZ update Magpie. NZ has always had a good harvest of RS's over the years compared to Australia.

Do you guys think the reason why we are getting such a small number of cars would be fords way of testing the waters? If they sell out, then that leaves the door open to import more RS. I'm sure the real reason is the amount of stock left with the 5 Cyl engine being no more, but if they do sell well and ford can get their hands on more stock, then it gives them a clear indication of how well they sell and whether they want to add these to the lineup of euro ford imports. Maybe not now, but any future RS that comes of the production line.

If The RS Focus comes to Australia, these cars will be the last off the production line overseas. Word is the RS Focus will not be produced soon and Ford will tool up for the next Gen Focus's and the next RS will be a Fiesta.
There is a good chance the RS Fiesta will sell in Australia.

These will be collectors cars with a price tag to suit, you will barely see them on the road. im not suprised by the numbers beeing allocated to AUS considering that they are a limited run anyway. if they ever do bring them in anyway, im sure (not 100%) but this may allow easier importing?

awe well, will be good to see at the shows and in person i must admit.

im stll a FRS mk1 fan though, new ones are awesum, but would still take an LR over an LV :P
