Default France's car production halves

Not just Australia:

https://gefira.org/en/2016/11/03/the...down-to-2-mln/

Salient quote:

"Industry is one of economy’s pillars and it has become clear that we cannot create national welfare without it. It is industry where innovations are developed and real growth is achieved; growth based on real wealth, not financial operations. It has also turned out that a strong manufacturing sector prevents an economy from deeper stagnation, which happened to France."

Good riddance, maybe we won't have as many of those pieces of crap rolled in glitter Renaults and Peugeots on our roads

How many cars have French companies sold globally compared to FoA?

The only worrying thing is modern societies need to continual growth...what could go wrong.

Japan actually make cars people want so they are not going anywhere. Both fridges and performance.

Car production in France halving over the last decade doesn't mean less Renault's, Citroen's and Peugeot's being built. Just that production has shifted out of the country.
Renault's Megane and Captur are built in Spain, the Clio in Turkey and the Koleos in Korea.

They are in Czech Republic. From my rough guess, about 80 pc of cars in the road in Prague were Skodas.

Ah ok, but they are owned by VW.
Shame Tatra don't make cars anymore, they looked interesting.

French cars are the dominant car in countries like Spain, Croatia and even Italy and much more of Europe. It's certainly not just VW's and Fiats over there.

Well when you watch a French tv series or film you actually see French cars so at least they are more patriotic than some others.

All French government agencies own/lease/drive French vehicles with the only exception of large Ford Transits for the CRS (French riot police). As stated above at least the French are patriotic.

Having had to endure French cars on occasion at face value it sounds like good news. More likely it is just the French purveyors of crap outsourcing the construction of their woeful cars to get around the nightmare that is the French worker's work ethic..

A 7.8% increase in Q2 2016 for our French friends,

Cars 962,000, Commercial vehicles 180,000, Total 1,142,000
% change 7.8%. Interesting reading for the rest of the car producing countries as well.
