Default Weekend Away in the Hunter Valley, 27-29 Nov

Hi All,

Following the success of last year's trip to the Hunter we are organising another. Weekend of 27th, 28th, 29th November 2009.
This year see's a slightly different format and a change in events.

We are staying at Pokolbin Hill Chateau Resort, right in the heart of fine wineries, restaurants and most importantly - pubs!

Travelling up the Friday night 27th (or afternoon/day) we will have either a BBQ on site at the Hotel or head out to the pub for dinner & drinks.

Saturday 28th November is the tour (on the bus we go!), this includes two wineries and two breweries.
First stop is at Tulloch Winery (the favourite of last year's trip) and then onto the Blue tongue brewery.
Departing blue Tongue we will head to Potts brewery where there is another tour and lunch.
McGuigans is the final stop for the day and next to McGuigans is a number of chocolate, cheese & wine shops for shopping delights.

Blue Tongue Brewery http://www.bluetongue.com.au/
Potts Brewery http://pottersbrewery.com.au/
McGuigan Wines http://www.mcguiganwines.com.au/

Saturday night will be a group decision as to what happens, restaurant, BBQ or trip to the pub.
Sunday 29th November will be a cruise back home.

This weekend has being organised following positive feedback from last year's trip and many members have expressed interested in another. This year is a family event as the hotel (resort) has many facilities including SPA's, Pools, Tennis Courts, BBQ's that back onto Vineyards etc.

The accommodation is cabin style which is twin share (2 couples per cabin), but in separate halves. The accommodation and winery tour cost is approximately $480 per couple (two people).
Included in the $480 is the accommodation and winery tour.

Costs which aren't included are the lunch at Potts Brewery along with breakfast, dinner and other meals at the hotel. These are separate costs as part of the weekend.

Due to a number of other events there is a limited number of spots and we do need to place a deposit asap. All members interested please contact Rod: 0421 433 424 to organise a booking.

if all you guys prefer pubs you are better off going an extra 5 minutes to Cessnock cause potters brewery isnt much chop and the same as blue tongue. The Railway hotel is the best in town
