Default Wow and on a Public Holiday

I was cruzing along Marion Road today 10.30am (Australia Day) & I seen BP was 104.9 ULP pretty much the going rate atm & opposite Caltex/Woolworths 99.9 ULP I cant remember the last time Adelaide had ULP for under $1 & a Public Holiday to boot. My Mobile phone is in for warranty so I couldnt grab a photo. So I decided to cruz down there just now with my Camera & its still the same price 7.30pm.

I had a 10c off voucher from Coles and got fuel the other day for 95.9. Been a few years since I've done that.

Ok, thats it, I'm over cars now. I just realized that I got excited when I saw fuel for 99.9c/L. That is not healthy!

I drove pat a servo a couple of days ago with fuel at $1.05/lt and was impressed but I had to get to work so didn't have time to fill up. On the way home, I did need to fill up so I went to the same servo. $1.15/lt :( . I was pretty ****ed off about that

Ah yes, the 10 cent syndrome. Fuel no later than Tuesday folks. Because Wednesday onwards is payday for most. The oil companies know this, and bump the price 10 cents. It's back to normal by Monday. Paranoid you say? Watch the prices and note the days. You'll be surprised. And why is nothing done? Because we are the only losers.

I hate that. You think to yourself "I'm in a hurry, I'll get it on the way home"
and then later that day, bam, 10 cent price hike.

It just goes to show you how conditioned we are to prices now
$1 a litre used to be expensive, but now we think thats cheap!!!!

Gas at around 50% of the price of petrol is a real rip off.
It used to be around 33%

Certainly is! I also reckon that the price of diesel won't drop in a hurry either. Those are the 2 fuels that I use and neither of them drop in price.

Id publicly thank to the ACCC for threatening a name and shame on those who didn't align fuel prices to its real value and the Government and NRMA for backing up the ACCC and keeping pressure on the oil companies.

Exactly.. but it has taken them quite some time to start playing the heavy hand.
I was really impressed with how quick the Government jumped on the fact the prices jumped so massively high just before the public holiday (up here it was $1.20 something) but after the threats, the price is back to around the $1 mark at most servos I saw tonight.

I thought that was ilegal. I thought that all fuel stations had to tell some place there prices for the next day and they had to stay that price for that day. I thought it was to stop fuel stations changing there prices during the day to compete with other servos who where selling for less.
