Great, now there non commodore cars are going to be even crappier. At least South korea has some experience making cars. So much for Holden bieng "Australian"

Apparently the Buick Royaum (AKA Statesmen) will be built in China. Whats the bet that in a few years time the Statesmen/Caprice will be bult there too.

Spewin how Holden rant and rave over how Aussie they are in their many adverts, whilst they import so much of their product. Most of the public know jack **** and Hollden know it. As usual Ford sit on their ***, average Jo goes down to the dealership and asks for an 'all Aussie'Holden when he's prob picking up a Daewoo.

I thought they were only assembling them over there with parts sent as flatpacks from here?

The engines are built in Pt Melbourne. The remainder of the car is built in China.

Its a good idea, the Chinese market is growing rapidly, they sold about 5.2 Million cars last year, compared to Australia's sub 1 million. The chinese economy has increased 10$ in the last 4 years, and will probably surpass the United States as the worlds biggest car market by 2020.

So it's a good idea that Holden now has a CEO that understands the chinese business, has contacts there, and could probably secure more exports for Holden.

So for all the bagging of the VE in this forum, Mooney was still promoted within GM even though he managed to increase exports to China and other countries. When will GM wake to themselves and understand that business does not rely on sales & profit, but whether a 17 year old, one eyed Ford nut with a metal fatigued EB falcon considers Holden up to his high standards.

Well i can only see it as a good thing. the Chinese economy is growing still and they're wanting out products. AT least Holden/GM are giving what the chinese want. Ford have their heads too far up their asses.

it's pretty freaky to think that China will soon be tapping into the dwindling fuel supply at a similar rate to the Americans our fuel costs and strain on our dying world is gonna go through the roof big time..

China's rapidly growing economy will have many negative impacts on both the environment and resources. Hang on for the ride as it is going to get bumpy.
