I was trying to find a pic of the XC Allan Moffat Special, and was completely unsucessful.
Along the way I fell over these pics of an E series Moffatmobile: http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d4...tESeries01.jpg http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d4...tESeries02.jpg I don't know if this is the ED HO Allan Moffat Special that I've heard about, but know absolutely nothing about. Could somebody fill me in? My recollection of the XC AMS was that it was basically a ricer - white car, black sills and arches, bonnet, but standard 2 barrel V8 - can't remember if it was a 351 or 302??? What were the mechanical specs of the E Series Moffatmachine? |

I don't know the complete story but a few of these were made. If I remember correctly, they were blown V8's. Can't remember the power figures, but I remember being disappointed when I read them.

I think Moffat special E series were called "Phase Ho" perhaps and were by the same melbourne mob as did the Phase 5 XDs (Phase automiotives) which Allan had a hand in.
As for your pic of XC Allan Moffat Special... this is all i could find Last edited by bathurst77; 16-12-2005 at 12:16 PM. |

Allan Moffat gave his signature for the production of the AM-HO. Based on an EB or ED, wheels and tyres/ body kits/interior/ and engine modes were available. It think it was built by (not 100%) Phase Autos in Melbourne. A supercharger was available for the 6 and the V8. They looked HOT. It was great to have a ford avaiable with a HO badge, unfortunatly it was not factory but built aftermarket.

Quote from the newspaper article "The red, white and blue cars are offered as a special value pack..."
I thought they were just white and black. Anybody recall what were the red and blue bits? |

The E series looks pretty nice, apart from the rear wing.

One thing I do remember is that Moffatt's cars always sounded different to all other Falcons on the main straight at Sandown

they came in red, white or blue with black accents on bonnet, doors, sills etc. Also had aussie fladg and Alllan Sig just above the 4.9 on the flanks. Ive seen a few around here n there. OH and I actually really LOVE Peter Arcadipanes "Concorde" van and "October Car" 2 door. Been lucky enough to see em both in the flesh way back when they were new. Anyone got any more pix of either of them? |

I last spoke with him in June, and he was thinking seriously about parting with it. He was looking at asking around $23,000 for it, with (I believe) under 100,000 KMs on the thing. I'll have to get in touch to see if he still has it.

Prior to ADR 27a there was only the GT T code 4 barrel 351 that was ADR 27 compliant, the K code 351 was 2 barrel for ADR 27. By the way, all ADR 27a 302's and 351's from XC onward had 4 barrel carbs.
