Default Your favourite Ford for Garage!

Hi all.
Thought I'd make a thread for some hearty discussion!

If you had the choice of the following cars to own if won a lottery which would you pick?

(MUST not be based on value. Just what you want in garage/driveway to drive and love - resale irrelevant etc. What you want no questions asked).

1. GTHO
2. FPV GTF
3. Shelby AC Cobra
4. Mustang GT
5. FPV Sprint
6. GT40 (original)
7. Others welcome!

Let's not get caught up on what's a true Ford etc it's just a fun thread in these strange times ok : )

Me?

Shelby AC Cobra. Damn I love them.

Awhile back i would have said an XYGS as many many moons ago i had a real cracker but like a lot of young fellas i had about as much foresight as a ping pong ball and for years did the "i wish blah blah" these days if i had the coin it would be an XA/XB GT coupe, odd how things change over the years as back when i didnt much like em . Everytime i see one now If there was a second option it would be this as in this particular car,the time/money blah blah that went into making this thing happen is nothing but a labour of love, bloke that owns it is 73ish,when he drives it hes 23ish

Not that any of those cars wouldn't be welcome in my garage quicker than lightning but .......Vermilion Fire or Wild Violet XY GTHO I just couldn't knock back. Never gets old with the old HO .

I've already got the car.
If I won lotto I'd build a better garage for it and collect a heap more crap to make it feel more at home.
I think they call it Automobillia nowadays and that'd make me a connoisseur

I'm biased but I loved my BA Turbo.

I love my R36 but it's not at BA-T levels yet.

I flicked cars in 2 years usually but I kept my baby 10 years!! (power steering pump leaks!! Coil Packs!! Oil line clogged blew turbo!! : )

Was a Great car for the money at time but not worthy of this list obviously

XC Cobra made to look like one of the Bathurst race cars in 79. Would also consider Mad Max interceptor from the 1st movie.

One of the Saleen Mustangs from around 2005 or 2006 wouldn't go astray either. S281 I think they were.

Thought hot hatch guys were passionate on them.

I had three Escorts in my time ..Ironically the first one and two were my only brand new cars although technically it was one car..Don't get it ...This is what happened . In January 1980 I had saved enough to replace my first car , a Morris Mini 1100..So I bought a Gold Escort L 2 door with optional AM radio cassette ...About three months later I was driving home from work . There'd been roadworks happening and remember coming up a hill . Next memory was nearly a week later being wheeled out of ICU . Accident investigators determined I'd tried to avoid what they think was another car that was seen, lost control on the super slippery roadworks and hit a bridge . Seat belt only thing from stopping me going into the river . I spent about four months off work , head injuries , broken arm and wrist ,other stuff..Doctor told me the reason I couldn't remember anything is Retro grade amnesia where the brain stops you recalling trauma..

After I was better and able to drive again my insurance paid up . I added a grand or so and replaced the L with a four door GL Escort and I loved that little blue car . Lots of kays later I traded it in stupidly on a bloody VC Commodore . Ended up regretting that .

Years later I got a very second hand Escort Ghia with the 2.0 ..Rough around the edges but it was a great drive too ..

Escort is definitely IMO one of the best Fords the company ever built and I used to drool over the RS 2000 and the 2.0 Rally Pack. Tell you what though , after about a year of owning the 1.6 GL I took it into a place that re routed the ADR27 shemozzle for me. From that day quite literally she just ran so much better and more economically too .

Yours looks like something pretty special and I guess she's been a long term keeper by the sound of it .. cheers ..

Wish Aust brought the Super Snakes here.

Has anyone seen an original GT40?

My understanding is that original based on being 40 inches high.......(so a bubble in roof to fit driver helmet)

Pretty awesome if true

Only one car had the bubble (Gurney bubble). Dan Gurney was really tall so they did that mod just for him in 1967 Le Mans
