Default Window Tint Colour????

Hi, I am getting the windows tinted in the EB next week and am interested to see what colours are available. thinking of something different to black, maybe blue/chrome, silver, gold. If anyone has pics of thier cars and brand names they could post.

be aware that most of these fancy colours will fade very quick, some will lose all their colour in 6 months or turn purple.

also they dont give as good a protection as the normal tints.

if its just for looks and you are happy to replace it when it buggers up , go for it. some of them can look pretty smart on the right car.
if you are doing it for a long term investment in the benifits that good tint will give , then i would stick to normal high performance tint.

carbon black or pure metal films will last the longest.

I'm more concerned with lifespan than looks so will give the coloured tints a miss.

thanks for your reply.

Bolle do a green tint, Im pretty sure most mirror tints are illegal, eg. silver, gold. And its one of those things that can be spotted a mile away, so you wouldnt get away with it for long.
Plus, $100 just to get it removed, no thanks....
Have a chat to your local tinting place, they should be able to help you out...

...
legal limit is 10% reflectivness/mirror effect which is not really reflective.
you are right , most of the reflective custom colours are not legal.

Please, dont do the whole mirror reflection/green/purple/ pink tint thing.

As forementioned its illegal, it also hasnt been mentioned it looks coon, especially on an E series falcon.

Just get a good quality window tint film with a lifetime warranty. Maybe go for a slightly darker than legal film which isnt completely obviously illegal (maybe 25-30%)

Most good quality tint has a very slight metallic reflective finish to it anyway.

anywhere between about 250-300 should be about right.

I got my xr6 done a few weeks ago, $300.

Real dark, so much so my wife can't drive it when it starts getting dark.

The left side tint finished about 13mm before the door frame rubber. He said the rubber was too tight.

Might just be getting a second opinion.

I've been quoted $295 for legal and $350 for not so legal.

I'm curious if anyone has had any probs with the law over darker than legal ??

Its not so much the police picking you up on these tints its your insurance companies. Any reason and i mean ANY reason not to pay out a claim.....and they'll use it
