Just wondering if anyone knows who does AU steering wheel removal & fitting in the Frankston area or surrounding areas .. i have 2 cars that need to be done.

you can do it yourself.
disconnect the battery, leave it for 5 mins or so. then remove the 2 torx headed airbag retaing screws from the back of the wheel. lift the airbag out a little, disconnect the wiring plug from the socket. take the airbag away from the steering wheel and put to one side. then you need a torx T50 bit to undo the wheel from the column, leave the bolt in a few threads, and pull and wobble the steering wheel to release it from the column. when it comes loose, remove the bolt and swap the new steering wheel on and reverse the following procedure. takes about 15mins all up to remove and then refit.

Yeah i read how it's done in the how to do threads but i don't have that special torx T50 bit that's needed. I thought if someone close by could do it i'd take it to them ...

The T50 isn't your problem at all - dime a dozen you can get them anywhere. The problem is the 2 five pointed torx that retain the airbag ... very few places have them. My advice is that after you get someone to take them out for you trundle down to your local hardware joint and get some stock hex head jobbies to fit back in their place - next time you have to do the job a standard hex socket is all you'll need.

im pretty sure the small torx bit is a T25 ?

When i changed mine i went down to the local ford dealer and grabbed a mechanic and asked him if he would undo the two air bag bolts no worries. Went home and undone the steering wheel with a allen key. Throw the 2 air bag torx bolts away and use different bolts. I've got torx bits now but allen keys will do to get the wheel off if you don't have them.

Bought a little kit like the ebay link today, has the right bits in it. Tool guy says he sells alot of these for the ford bit and knew what i was wanting which helped.
