Hey guys its my birthday today (29) and Im regretting to turn the big three zero next year. :
Just wondering if its as they say, 'All down hill after 30"? Those that are in their 30's, did you find life whether physically or mentally etc got tougher as you got older? I realise this is a general question, but how have you handled getting older? Do you counter act getting older by having a mid life crisis etc? :

Well what are the options if you don't get older! I don't particularly like the other option. Pushing up daisies.
I am late thirties heading very quickly to forty. I have had an absolute ball in my thirties, spent a lot of time partying with friends after getting divorced at 33 (on my child free weekends of course I have three kids). I met my now husband and have added his two kids to the now very large and loud household. Life is what you make it - I have started playing sport again and am spending great time with the kids. I note you have not have kids yet - if you do then the best is yet to come and if you choose not too what is there to miss out on. Go out and have some fun. If you obey all the rules you miss all the fun. I loved turning thirty and am looking forward to turning forty. |

Yes My mid-life crisis is coming into its 15th year now. There are, however, many commercial products available to assist in counteracting the ravages of time. If symptoms persist, consult your family health practitioner, or pay regular visits to Dan Murphy's. PS. I have a spare walking frame for sale,
if you are interested, finished in metallic midnight blue, good rubber, brakes etc. I've decided to toss it aside and hobble along into the sunset, unassisted. : |

Some interesting experiences there.
I appreciate your honesty. I guess I could be fretting over nothing. I dont have kids mainly because I choose to. Plus we have friends who have kids that come over every week so its not that feel the need to have some. I guess I have a lot to look forward to.

Big Trev and Whoosha, glad to make your acquaintance! I joined this week and was beginning to worry that this was a young'uns club! Now I feel a little more assured there is a seniority balance! Can we start an 'around 50' forum? You know, exchange natural therapies and that sort of thing: lol! The way I see it so long as we thrash our Fords it doesn't matter :monkes:

30, that is when life starts to get really fun. Physically you wont be as strong or fit but mentally you will be far better off. 30 isn't old, just the start.

Well as today I've turned 36, I can tell you that it sucks. You get fat, grey hair wrinkles and you can't go a whole night asleep without waking up once to go to the toilet.
I'm kidding. Except on the fat and the toilet part. Oh and the wrinkles and Grey Hair. But it doesn't suck. It's all good. You find that the wisdom you hated getting from everyone else, it's cool now to pass it onto the kids. I know 30 seems like a big number. It's not. Its a good time. I pity the young generation. Like the teenagers. They will pay a premium on everything. Mostly morgages. |
