a pic taken on saturday of my car stalling up on the line,
would a rear sway bar keep it flat? |

Thats wild looking Qwikcorty!!
Do you have an LSD? If so I would get it checked! As I understand it Drag cars don't use sway bars, circuit cars do. But I also understand what you are getting at. Could the torque of the motor be part of the cause?

had the centre fitted with 4.11's the thursday before the drags, was told its pretty tight still. it allways felt like it twisted when stalled up, but i never knew it looked like that!

I think a BIG rear anti-sway bar will do wonders. I got inspired thinking about it and googled somestuff in the US, this link gives a pretty indepth description of what you are experiencing and suggests how to fix it. It's worth reading the whole lot, the bit most related to you is about half way through.

Maybe it's not stiff enough in the front swaybar wise?? It's like the cars trying to turn onto it's side.

it has no sway bars at all, makes for great handling round corners!
i read that article, for drags they think a big rear sway bar and nothing for the front is the go with soft front springs and shocks for lift. |

Well theres your problem. Fit one to the front. It won't twist up as much anymore.

Also maybe use a bit more preload on the RHS rear spring, add a spacer maybe?, even with a heavy rear bar I think any car would benefit with more rideheight or preload on the RHS rear.

ballance the diff on a large socket on a jack the set pre load so that left tyre is 1" off ground while right remains on ground and fit a front sway bar makes it so much less of a pig off the line, worked on an lx a mate had

WITHOUT BEING FUNNY YOU ALSO WILL HAVE TO SOLID MOUNT IT VIA EITHER HEAVY CHAIN FROM THE BLOCK TO CHASSIS RAIL. MOST OF THE VISION IS CAUSED BY TORQUE TWIST IN MOTOR . HAD TO DO EXACTLY THAT WITH A RAMBLER HORNET I HAD WITH A 360amc MOTOR THROUGH A WARNER 12 BOX AND DANA END. DON'T LAUGH YOU WILL BE SURPRISED HOW IT WORKS .PS IS STILL LEGAL BOTH ON THE STREET AND IN SCRUTINEERING AT DRAGS . AS I AM AN EX OFFICIAL OF BOTH ANDRA AND RACE DIRECTOR AT CALDER PARK........IAN :

something to do with the rear suspension i guess, was designed for 4cyl's over in england originally, with just strengthening and a 9inch conversion.
Got a sway bar tonight that fits pretty well in the back, from a vr or vs holden of all things. |

looks like some axle steering??? Along with massive torque.. I guess longer radius rods in rear suspension???
Have you fitted some chassis connectors or strengthening???
