Question M7 Motorway Tolls - no etag, forgot to pay

Bugger ! Just got back from Sydney, drove on the M7 tollway with no etag and no account. Forgot to ring up afterwards and pay the toll in time.

I'm from Victoria. Anyone know if they will send me a bill in the mail ?

Does the tollway in NSW have access to Victorian registration systems ?

Cheers,
Darren.

You will have to wait until they post it to you if it has been longer than 48 hours since you used the road...I rang them about 3 days after using it and they told be to sit tight and pay once I got the letter which is a little annouying.
Full length of route is about $16 from memory if you pay late. If the car you used is registered in your name, you'll get the notice.

I think you get 48hrs, can't remember, but you'll get a bill in the mail if you don't call and its expensive.

It uses e-toll as well as e-tag, don't you mexicans use e-toll? For awhile there I'm sure they were banging on about it complying with country wide toll devices.

Wait till you get the letter, there's a $10.00 admin charge on top of the toll. I've had company vehicles where the letter has taken 3 months to get to me and they still accepted payment with no additional penalty. If you are concerned give them a call, I've found their help desk staff to be unusually helpful )

Tote

I bought a pass over the net for it last time we went up to WSID. Forgot to put Vic rego on it, called their help line and they took off the admin charge and sorted it on the spot. Give them a call, seem to be very helpfull.

I went for a trip on the M7 with no tag on the 12th of January this year and I still haven't heard from them. Did the same thing on the M4 same day and got the bill a few weeks later. I was delivering a car to the buyer and forgot I took the e tag out!

They still haven't sent me a letter from January 12th this year. I got the M4 letter (from the same day) in a couple of weeks. I forgot I had taken my E tag out of the car as I was selling it. As I did have a tag there was no fine you just write your tag number on the form an fax it back to them and they charge your tag. Know anyone with a tag?

Dont worry about it. I used the M7 many many times with Qld Rego and no etag and never got a letter! Different story on M2 and M5. M2 and M5 sent letters to qld and I just ticked the box that said "charge it to my eTag no xyz" No probs.

The only thing worse than a toll road is a gridlocked toll road.

Same here - at Christmas, we drove back from Bowral to Bris and took the M7 and forgot to ring them....8 months later and still nothing.

I've experienced the same thing. I visit Sydney semi regularly and I usually just pay on their website http://www.roam.com.au/ using my CC. Only once out of maybe 6 times has the transaction actually gone through smoothly though! It seems the $1.50 admin fee gets charged to my card but some software glitch causes the actual toll fee to slip through the system. But they manage to remember to send out a letter after about a month and say I haven't paid! I then just ring them up and explain that I've already given them CC details and then they charge me the toll. Something about a glitch with ACT registered vehicles.

I've just come back from Sydney again today, wonder if I'm going to have this trouble again? I'm not game to not pay and hope a bill will never arrive.

Do they photograph the car from the front or the rear does anyone know? My front plate is missing so there is a chance I won't get a bill?

You might find the charges appear on you Vic tool account. When I went to melbourne, I could use the tollroads with my pass.
Funny thing was that I drove through about 20 toll roads and only got one $2.60 charge.
I guess the cameras are not that good at getting the plates.

And if you are lucky you will be able to travel in both directions on the same road at the same time. What's that crazy road called again?

Thanx all. I was hoping to hear they dont bother with interstaters. Looks like I'll just sit back and wait. End result will be either free or $16 with the admin charge.

Cheers,
Darren.
