Default News Headlines

Is it just me or do others find news headlines amusing?

Two examples from today:-

DOPE FIND; COPS RAID JOEL MADDEN'S SYDNEY HOME.

Well, he was at home...

NSW STATE of ORIGIN PLAYER CHARGED WITH DRINK DRIVING.

Now, this headline was in Queensland (don't know about NSW).
It just so happens the NSW player is a Qld Cowboy charged in Townsville.

Yes , pretty amusing sometimes, sometimes funny , sometimes very misleading.

The overall quality of journalism these days is so woeful that about the best we can hope for is a witty headline. Frontpage at news.com.au at the moment is that Kevin Rudd has flamed leadership tensions by wearing a blue tie...

A crash of cyclists at Lara (the town)

Hahaha NT newspapers seem to have the best headlines. I remember one that had me in stitches, something about a bucks night and a rubber appendage?

Journalism?
BTW: It wasn't Kevin who chose the tie, the significant female in his life (still) put his clothes out on the bed each morning!
