Default Interstate traffic fines.

Hypothetically speaking of course, how far can one state go to get you to pay a traffic fine if you have a drivers license of another state? for example a fine in S.A. when you have a W.A. license? I hypothetically read on a hypothetical speeding fine they can reposses belongings, cancel your license etc?

I got a speeding fine in Victoria that was sent to my old address in Victoria, but I was living in W.A at time, anyway to cut a long story short, the Police turned up at my door in W.A to enforce the fine, thankfully I wasn't home at the time, so they left a contact card, I rang them to find out what they wanted and got told about the fine. I told them I would pay it in 2 days (when I got paid), they said that's fine, but if I didn't show they would enforce the warrant they had, and lock me up for 3 days.

The fine (from what I can remember) was about 3-4 years old at this stage.

Points system is national now, it wasnt once. When I got fined in Queensland my dad told me I had better pay it or they would have a warrant out for my arrest if I ever went back there. It was only $30 anyway, for going through a red light.
