Default Photobucket under new management.

Just got an email saying all my pics have been restored. Checked some old threads, and sure enough, the pics are back.
New owners also have a new price structure from $20/year.

Don't know how long that will last but for 3rd party hosting costs you pay $1.10 per day.

Don't see anywhere on their site of your $20 plan, as far as I'm concerned Photobucket still charges a premium price.

takes you to this page. perhaps it still won't suit everyone, but for people that just need a small amount of storage and image hosting, it seems ok.

Thanks for the heads up Rob.

Dayum, I got the poos something chronic with PB and deleted my account.

Should've just left it there, would've been happy to pay a modest hosting fee, just not the extortionate amount they were asking.

The way PB went about it was very poor form.

Cheers!

PB asks for a "high price" for 3rd party hosting of your photos. Everyone is angry and wants their photos to be restored. PB then has "new management" that is only asking for a "low price" for 3rd party hosting of your images. Everyone is happy to pay the "low price" to restore their images. Hmmm...

Nope they can get stuffed for screwing everyone in the first instance, redemption for them is imo restore 3rd party hosting permanently for a start with this new price structure.

I did not see the limited offer by Photobucket when I visited their site but they still can get stuffed reason being new members will eventually pay a premium price after the limited time offer expires.

yes, it would appear that most (myself included) have moved on to other 3rd party hosters, which provide a free service, and the backflip from Photobucket is 'too little, too late'.

I wonder if they will continue to host the pictures they've reinstated if the customer decides not to sign up to a paid membership?

My photo's have also reappeared.

Frankly, I was never a fan of the websites clunky nature. I have been using PostImage, and apart from a hiccup last month, its far easier to upload images.

I use postimage also, but they had some issues (possibly the same that you are referring to) where any pics embedded as a 'thumbnail' and not hotlinked, now no longer appear, as they had to change their address slightly.

In my territory thread, I lost a lot of those pics because I used thumbnails. Bit annoying as you can't go back and edit the links.

It is a lot easier to upload and/or resize pics though, I do agree.

So if I’m reading this right, the cheapest way to get third party hosting (which is all anyone wants anyway) is to get the intermediate pack plus add the third party hosting. So $3.99 plus $2.49 to be $6.48 per month or around $80 per year, and I assume USD.

I’m still not going to pay that. F U photophucket.

If you can make do with 10gig storage, the special offer is $20/year.

If you sign up for a year subscription, surely they would have to honour that price for the full term.

The company got rid of the idiot CEO who instigated the photo hostage situation last year, and the original staff of 120 is now down to 10.

The new CEO seems to be trying fairly hard to win back old customers as they've reinstated all the photos that were previously blocked and reduced prices.

So for the price of a packet of smokes I'm prepared to take up their offer of AUD$27 for 10GB storage, including third-party hosting, with no ads, for a year.
Then I'll see how it goes after that.

Well I am fuming, I am a paid up member until July and can't even get into my account anymore, was in the process of deleting my pics and had no intention of renewing my account, but this is just adding insult to injury

Spent a lot of time rebuilding my thread pics wherever possible, set up AFF gallery and have been using Postimage.

Don't trust PB as far as I can throw them

PB have now reinstated my account and I do agree the new team are definitely trying hard, the plans are along the lines of what I told them would be acceptable when I returned my membership survey a couple of months ago, but I can't see any deal of $27 for 10GB like the one you quoted?

I have already replaced most of my PB gallery pics on AFF with AFF gallery or Postimage pics so am finding it all very frustrating to say the least.

The cheapest plan of $27/year with 3rd party hosting gives only 2GB.

This is what I can see in Plans,
