Default 10 children in a roll over outside Melb

Just watching the news on this and i have to say seriously what is wrong with these people??? 2 Adults and 10kids in a 4WD (looked like a Range Rover?)

The driver was unlicenced and the other "adult" drunk... no wonder we are doomed.

10 children injured in 4WD crash
Updated August 06, 2011 02:49:44

Ten children were injured when a four-wheel drive crashed at Rockbank, in Melbourne's outer west on Friday evening.

Police say only one of the 10 children was wearing a seatbelt when the vehicle left the Western Highway and rolled several times.

The children, who are all under the age of 10, suffered a range of injuries including a broken leg and abdominal pain and have been taken to hospital.

The driver of the car, a woman who police say was unlicensed, has also been taken to hospital for observation.

A man was arrested at the scene for being drunk in a public place, and the driver will also be breath tested.

"When we got here it was probably one of the most chaotic scenes I've ever seen in 27 years of working in traffic," Senior Constable Allan Edwards said.

"There was two adults and 10 children in the vehicle and only one child was restrained."

Acting Sergeant Jamie Love says it was a horrific sight.

"It was quite disturbing to see 12 people come out of one vehicle, when it's only licensed to seat seven. I'm just not really sure what people are thinking in this day and age to cram 12 people, ten of them being young children and endangering their lives in such a manner," he said.

Thumbs down Re: 10 children in a roll over outside Melb

Only 1 child was in a restraint? I think "last beer Larry" & his driver are in a spot of bother.. There is enough carnage on our roads with young people being killed & injured, without this type of event happening.

I hope those "adults" were the parents of at least some of the kids, and that those kids are removed from their "care". I also hope the parents of any other kids sever all ties with this irresponsible couple. As a parent, I find this sickening.
