Can't tax you if you don't buy there.
How's that possibly legal? As far as discrimination goes....

The news this morning said it was a vegan cafe, so why would if I lived near by order a not bacon and not egg roll? I simply would not go there. You don't cop man tax for real bacon.

What sort of men hang around a vegan cafe in Brunswick anyway.
Perhaps every man that goes in there can identify as a woman. How are these wealthy white progressive liberals gonna back their way out of that one.

Why won't the media ever run a story on the amount of male suicides and the fact it out numbers women 3:1. Or the fact single male fathers get absolutely raped by the govt when it comes to their rights as fathers (likely contributing to the high male suicide rate). Complete silence from these scum bags on this issue.

Instead non event novelty BS stories like the gender pay gap myth, or some mentally ill freak who thinks he is a woman and feels it's rights are violated, take higher priority in social justice issues.

You could always grab an overpriced underquality feed at the next SAFD (if you go)...

Gender pay gap is BS its illegal to pay someone less based on gender for the same work.

If that was true you could save 18% on your wages bill by hiring only women!

Lol Brunswick, its a gentrified craphole with hipsters who wear womens jeans and live in run down 1960s apartments cause 'retro'.

For those that are interested in the details, rather than using a headline to vent their frustrations:

"The cafe, which clearly advertises its rules on a chalk board, explained men will be charged the premium — and the gap donated to women’s services.
However co-owner Alex O’Brien told Seven News the surcharge, which is in place one week out of every month, wasn’t compulsory.
She also said none had so far refused to pay it and in a Facebook post overnight said the idea has been well supported overall."

"If people aren’t comfortable paying it or if men don’t want to pay it, we’re not going to kick them out the door,” she said.
It’s just a good opportunity to do some good.”

It's just a novel way to donate to womens services.

I agree BTW, that at risk men are under-represented in general.

The cafe is called 'Handsome Her' Yeah no guy has ever called a women Handsome in a good way.
If the gender pay gap is a thing, why isn't every company screaming for women employees. All the cheapskate companies would love to take advantage of that 18% pay gap.

Ahhh another of these AFF mainstream faithfull challenges to their point of view threads.
Imagine that in one story we have vegans, inner city residents, women, inequality claims and a cafe, probably some latte available with almond milk. All in one story. What could be better. And the story affects none of them, other than giving them a common enemy.
Imagine if the story was accompanied by a bun wearing man with a plate if smashed avocado. A frenzy if disgust could break the internet.

The gender pay gap exists, however it's not always because it's a battle of the sexes. It's sometimes simply because there's plenty of jobs at are highly paid that are male dominated. There aren't too many women that want to do FIFO and work in the dirt all day long for weeks on end, aren't as many women wanting to drive trucks, trains, work on rigs in the middle of the ocean, loading and unloading ships, building towers and houses, plumbers, sparkles and so on and so forth.

Get women into these jobs and watch the gap shrink.

You'd be amazed how many women discard a desire for "equality" when there's heavy lifting (within their abilities) to be done, even when they're paid the same rate. Suddenly, they're just a woman who needs a man to help them.

You think you'll get a reaction out of a Brunswick vegan cafe by identifying as a woman! Even an ugly one?
More likely you'll be beaten to death outside by a lost AFF fanatic looking for Lygon street.

It would take a few dozen blokes to teach this cafe, sit there and look at the menu for hours at a time, occupy every seat, play them with extreme indecision, sorry can't make my mind up, need more time, order nothing, continually occupy their toilets, leave the seat up. They will then ban men altogether, then take them to HRC.

If this establishment is like most others in Bolshie-wick it is probably full of very scruffy, sad looking women that smell of patchouli and cat pee. Come to Carlton and get a real coffee (with milk, even) and a pastry.
