The audi A4 I could see in my driveway.. but not the other three.
I wonder if any of the judging panel would actually buy one of those other cars themselves. |

I would have thought the G6ET would be a done deal, to not even rate a mention is madness.

I am amazed that a car that has won all other awards in OZ cannot even make the final. It really hurts, I am actually very upset that the FG will not be recognized as the great car it is by at least making the final. I would love to know what kicked it out of the final.........
The 5 star safety? The world class driveline ( six speed auto, smooth + powerful I6T ) The pricing (what other prestige large rwd car has 270kw and is under 60k ) Will be interesting how they explain their decision......... |

The LPG versions would have let it down, 4speed auto and the same basic LPG setup as my EL (and earlier).
Remember the COTY is judged on the whole range, not just one model.

Where is this list of finalists from? I would have thought the FG would have had it easily, since usually what ever Falcon / Commodore comes out in a given year usually wins the award. So I would be interested to know where the list comes from. Not that I am suggesting that any of you are wrong, or worst yet lying, but I very rarely put any credence into anything reported on Today Tonight/ ACA.

FG is great but there is a criteria that talks of 'advancement in design' or some such jargon. How far does an e-gas xt lift the bar above a BFII e-gas xt?
Award goes to entire model range , xt - G6ET - (not just one model) The M3 is considered an individual model because so many parts are individual. Is ESP standard on all falcons???? IF not, then that will drop it out of contention. A shame as Holden won in a year with little competition. Any year which has a mazda 2,3,6,mx5,rx8,subey liberty is tough |

Mazda 6.. that was the fourth car on their list.
Just would like to know that they had a decent look at the falc.. that's all. You would think that if the A4 wan't too expensive for them to consider.. then they would have had a proper look at the G6ET.. or even the G6 which has about the same ORC as the VW and the Honda at the moment. |

The issue is not how awesome the G6/E/ET etc but how the whole model stacks up How does an e-gas falcoon stack up? No ESP, no five speed auto, old tech lpg.... Little things make a big difference in these awards. There cannot afford to be a weak link. A 4 speed auto (circa 1989ea), 156kw (comparable to 1994ef) 4.0 six with a 15L/100km consumption (circa 1977 xc) with no ESP (Circa noah's ark lol) is a weak link. A chink in the armour |

I think the list that has been posted in this thread is for 2007 COTY?? I didn't think the COTY edition of Wheels has come out yet?
