I bought a set of Front and Rear mup flaps the other day. The Front ones went straight on but the top screw hole on the Rears falls about 40mm lower than the screw location inside the wheel well. When I took them back to the dealer they got a service guy out to have a look and he insisted that they aren't supposed to line up and you just drive the top screw into where it sits. The mup flap itself seems to fit the car perfectly but it seems odd that this top screw hole doesn't line up with the existing screw on the car.
Has anyone else come accross this before?

Yup, it comes with a pair of self-tapping screws for this...You'll need a power drill or a power screwdriver though, good luck doing it by hand :P

Thanks for the advice Mullett and yes, you're absolutely spot on. As you and the dealer suggested I drove the self tapper in with the drill and it worked a treat. Mup Flaps fitted better than I thought they would and although you wouldn't think it, you'd be amazed how much mud and crap they stop from going on the side of the car.

yeah, mine work great
 Spray them out when I clean the car and HEAPS comes out, no stone chips yet! (except on on the bonnet...damn roadworks)RM.

Or drive in the country...I was just pulling up on a roadtrain to sling past it (I miss the EVO for effortless overtaking, if nothing else...) and the back trailer swung into the gravel...2 week old focus got HAMMERED. Poor little flake :(

I washed mine for the second time on the weekend and noticed a small stone chip on the bonnet.
3 weeks old and already a stone chip. As much as I hate to say it, I've just accepted that it's gonna get some chips and marks here and there, especially with the wife being the primary driver!  :
