Howdy all. after driving commy's for about 10 years I finally got a henry again. Damn good to be cruising in comfort again. I have a problem with my digital speedo. I washed down the engine/ trans when I first purchased my EA Fairmont Ghia Wagon and now have no speedo, cruise control, trip computer or 4th gear. In fact I have to manually change gears because it seems to be locked in 3rd. Obviously it is all connected to the same problem as they all went at the same time. I have unplugged just about everything on trans/engine etc and cleaned thoroughly. Any suggestions from anyone will be greatly appreciated.

on the side of the throttle body you have whats called the TPS (throttle position sensor)
you may have gotten water into that, that has a major input to transmission functions but i'm not sure if it would have an effect on the other issues ur having.

I think it would be just a conincidence that your speedo sender in the trans failed at the same time you washed the car. Put the car on sme ramps and slide under. from memory its an 8 mm bolt (or 10) on the drivers side of the trans. If you can pull it out and leave it plugged in you an test the signal wire by backprobing the plug with a multimetre. There will be 3 wires, one is earth, one it power and the other will give a 10v on off signal when the sender gear it turned. If you get nothing replace the sender unit and use the orginal gear.
