Smile engine swap

does anyone know wether a 289 windsor would fit straight into 1975 escort mk2 with out any modifications to the engine bay.

there would be a fair bit of modding to do if u wanted to put any v8 in an eski, getting rid or the brake booster and master cylinder and moving it, engine mounts and moving the radiator forward and maybe cutting a chunk out of the firewall, getting a bigger gearbox tunnel, then u haveto move into the diff and tailshaft, a hwole lot of mucking around really

a 3.5 leyland V8 would be a better fit, and wouldn't affect the handling too much.

to go up against an sr20det mk1

using bronco mounts and bronco sump helped me out when i did this to a cortina but it was a clevo 51 and if you want to go manual then you also gotta mod the clutch system plus brake mods and the other mods that were sugested

yes still (as money n time permit) doing the

rebuilding the zh fairlane with a clevo 400m 4v heads injected whipple blown with aode 4 speed trans to a 9" ....... we'll get there eventually
