Default The Positive Ford Thread

It would be good if we could have a thread that focused on Ford in a positive way where any negative remarks could be removed by the Moderators.

This could be a place where any positive press statements or information from some of the guys in the forum are in the Know could contribute.

The aim is to have a thread where you can go to look at the latest positives about Ford without it being derailed.

Don't forget the system upgrade at Broadmeadows assembly that will allow FoA to make and calibrate systems on cars such as blind spot assist and lane departture warning...not to mention the new design studio...

Well it did not take long did it?

As the topic is "positive" from this point any "negative" either active or passive would be off topic and treated accordingly.

Positive - I'm buying a new XR6 Ute.

Negative - I can't get it until tomorrow.

Does that count as a negative though? Because the wait is just as exciting as driving away in it.

Development of the T6 SUV wholly and solely by Ford Australia, for global markets. Mazda have bowed out and are concentrating on unibody SUV's and small cars.

The Focus is probably the biggest positive for Ford in recent times.
The bench mark for hatch backs in regards to dynamic ability.
The RS took that a step further and showed that with the revo knuckle suspension 220+kw can be sent through the front wheels and not be the disaster everyone believes.

The Ford GT brought back a halo car for Ford.

The I6T brought about a new market for Ford AU.

For a "vulnerable" six, it is the most underestimate engine the world has NEVER seen!

True, especially when you see what they've done with the turbo since it came out!
My XG is on it's way to 400,000 - no where near as what a lot of 6's have done, but she's been very good to me.

here are a couple of things positive and very true.

(1) Ranger: Best truck in the segment by a mile. Supply issues are painful. Could possible sell 3000 plus units per month if they could get those stock levels.
(2) Focus: Best value C-Class vehicle at the moment. Don't know why there is supply issues here but there is. 1600 units per month where it should be 3000.

If those 2 segments reach their potential, there is no reason why Ford cant assume 2nd place in the market.

Great products and if only people bought cars based on reviews and their own experience as opposed to just tumbling into that Zoom Zoom crap.

Honestly in the modern era, i reckon the BA XR6 Turbo was the best thing to ever happen to a modern FoA.
And looking to the future i reckon the EB range of motors will be the next, with the new ST giving folks an idea of its real potential.
With a bit of bias i reckon the I5T could have been a top donk for Ford, pity it was discontinued as i reckon its one of the best modern motors around.

Positive. My 2003 BA MK1 is the first ford i have owned (having just arrived in OZ from the UK) and i love it, sure i have had a couple of problems but mostly they have been from lack of maintinence by the previous owner. Easy (and cheap) to fix loads of spares available at good prices and it goes like a rocket (the average engine size in the UK is 1.8 - 2.0 ltr).

Will deffo buy another newer Falcon when the time comes.

Negative - can't get my fuel reg out no matter how hard i try. lol

I didn't belive I would enjoy driving a 4 cylinder falcon till I took one for a test drive. as much as the high power FPV offerings are great acheivements the EB falcon is the most impressive development to ford australia.
if you weren't told it was a 4 you would think it was a 6. the one big difference with the EB id braking and handling both of which are superior in the EB
the EB is a quick nimble family car that ford should be proud of

Couldn't be more positive than my FG XR50.

Will be two years next Sunday when I took delivery of the car, its been a joy to own and drive, I still love looking at the interior, exterior and driving it. And performance is more than sufficient, with very good economy. Its now done 35,000km, original tyres wearing evenly and still over 50% tread, no rattles or squeaks, everything works fine.

And warranty work done so far, none.

FPR giving 888 a run for the money in that lil race called Bathurst, I was choking up a little when Reynolds repassed Courtney for second spot and was hot on the heels of Whincup in that fantastic 1967 reef green retro liverly, a race ill never forget even though we didnt quite get the win, but mighty proud of FPR-Rod Nash racing!

There are many positives but sometimes it's just the simple things; like looking looking at the blue oval badge on one of my cars and knowing that it is recognised the world over, as well as the rich history and influence that Ford has had on the industry as we know it.

Can say the same for my XR5, only thing ive had fixed under warranty was a faulty headunit (Sony)

There isnt a rattle, squeak, nothing. Even though it has the factory flywheel output at the wheels, you wouldnt know unless you buried the right foot.
One issue is it isnt kind on tyres but thats is probably something to do with the mods.

My current Ford Ute has never let me down, with proper servicing and reasonable maintenance I expect it will have a considerable run yet. I have been buying fords since 1969 and know what to expect.
My Ute has been up and down some bad roads on some places where there was no road.

“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

This one is for ford customer relations centre. Having my car in August for a service I reported a problem with the cruise not working. Factory warranty ended 6 months back in Feb. So I rang the relations centre and stated my case for it to be fixed for me under the expired warranty. My grounds were simple. I purchased the car new, always had it serviced by the book, no mods, completely factory and well maintained. Only 1 claim made during the 3 years of ownership and I've purchased several new fords. My service manager also spoke with them after they called him.

A few weeks later I got a call saying ford have agreed to cover the repairs. 2 weeks ago the car was fixed.

Looks like my next new car will be a ford and not another brand.

Big thanks to ford for looking after a loyal customer.
