My mate has an el falcon and on the way to work today he said that the wipers just stopped working but he can still hear the wiper motor running?,any ideas or theories i can send his way to what he could look at and try to get them going,thanks for looking.

Sounds like wiper arm has detached from wiper motor...you need to remove the plastic trim piece above wiper motor,It just clips in,and you will the be able to see the problem.
