Redflex shares have dived due to covid-19 because there are not as many people on the road the revenue from the cameras has dropped.
Some of their contracts are based on how many motorists are booked. I haven't been booked by a camera for over 15 years and I hope they fall into oblivion. The Politicians are so far in bed with this company it is not funny making it near impossible to challenge a camera fine unless you have very deep pockets. The Politicans and Departments defend these systems to the death, a former CEO in the USA did time for bribery to land a contract, a heap of their Cameras were removed and fines returned in the USA as the Cameras were not FCC compliant. There are a couple of streets near where I live that do not have a nature strip so the camera operators park on the footpath making it difficult to walk past. |

These vehicles are not emergency services. They have no special rights. Redflex is a disgusting company. |

Unfortunately the operators are exempt from the rules on nature strip parking.

They are sewer rats. Come to think of it, so are our state governments. I hope one day we get a Federal Government in who has the guts to say having 3 levels of Government in this country, all being completely inconsistent with one another, is a waste that builds huge inefficiencies in our country. The feds that come in with a referendum to drop the states all together will get my votes - heck will get me volunteering my time for their party! The only thing States are good at is complaining how broke they are. Completely mismanage everything else. Not sure why 26 million people need up to seven different sets of road rules, education systems, property rules, stamp duty rules, workplace EHS rules, utilities and essential service rules (water, police, fire, hospitals)... the list goes on.
