Default Flathead serial number decode?

Picked up a 49-53 flathead yesterday and ive been trying to decipher a number stamped into the top of the block next to the back rhs corner of the intake manifold. Im pretty certain its a 239cube possibly a ‘49 ford engine.

Could the first character be a "C" for a Canadian casting?

No it’s definitely an “O”. I already know what the C stands for. Thats why this alpha numeric number doesn’t make sense. Its also not a letter/number/letter/number cypher...

The number could have come from any original user.Lots of those engines were used in industrial applications like welders, generators and pumps etc

It came complete with what looks like original manual gearbox with tailshaft yoke so dont think its a genny or industrial use..

Not a Simca Vedette motor? They have a different bellhousing flange to the Ford product, bit hard to see in the pictures.
