i need to replace the front wheel studs on my AU III
has anyone done this and is willing to offer me some tips/advice. im putting longer ones in. |

i have`nt done any studs on these throw away hubs, but usually the studs are splined and once you have access to them(caliper/ rotor off) a sharp rap with a good hammer on threaded end will usually see them pop out, the way i have put them back in is to push the new stud as far as it will go, putting a bunch of washers or a larger nut on the threaded end as needed,
followed by the factory wheel nut flat side in and then tighten up the nut to pull the stud into the spline, if your wanting to keep the old studs without damaging the thread screw the wheel nut on flat side out level with the end of the stud before wacking them. |

So I take the hub off the car? Or leave it on?

if there's room to get the stud out while it`s on, leave it on, usually there is room.

Have your front wheel bearings been replaced ? If not i would just replace them as the hub/bearing/studs are one unit.
