A long time ago I was in the US on a trip and came across this enormous jacked up Chevy ute:
I was wondering why we don't see "trucks" jacked up like this in Australia? Would this be legal here or not? And how do you even get into the vehicle? |

the height. you can only lift 50mm I think without an engineers report. The centre of gravity raised so high makes all the traction control actually dangerous

Stupid I know, some AM parts are certainly better than the OEM's they are meant to replace but thats where we're at in our country.

I notice that this ute also has 5 orange clearance lights on the roof. I don't think I've seen that here on any ute? Seems like a silly mod to me as you wouldn't be able to park it inside any garage.

Personally I think restoring a vehicle back to factory spec is as boring as bat ****. But I don't criticise people who do it if it makes them happy. |

Its a requirement for vehicles over a certain GVM, but I dont see how it would affect where you could park it?

That was back in the day and most likely not legal certain U.S states.
But now, both here and over there, they'd sit in one of those and turn it into a low rider. |

Usually a DOT requirement for running as a hotshot driver over 26 000lb GCM in the US. That law still applies. There are at least 2 vehicles like that down in the NE of Victoria. Ones a F250 in flat army green around Wodonga and the other a black F150 around Wang. See them regularly so I would imagine they must be engineered approved.
