Default Mondeo Ecoboost review

http://www.carsales.com.au/reviews/2...ecoboost-25410
Ford finds a replacement for cubic displacement with its new EcoBoost-powered Mondeo Zetec

new Mondeo Zetec EcoBoost hatch deliver 149kW at 6000rpm and 300Nm at 1750-4500rpm -- 26 and 44 per cent gains respectively. The flip side is it trims 16 per cent (fuel) and 17 per cent (CO2) to register 8.0L/100km and 187g/km in the combined cycle.
..........
The front wheels didn't scamper or spin under heavy acceleration, at least in the dry, allowing a cleaner sprint to the three-figure measure (9.3 seconds versus the 2.3-litre model's 10.5).
........
For performance fans, however, the EcoBoost doesn't quite fill the void left by the departure of the five-cylinder Mondeo XR5 Turbo and its tuneful 162kW/320Nm -- an engine good enough for 7.5 seconds 0-100km/h.

That 7.5 sure is fun , but over all too soon.
Pity no Ecoboost normal manual for us dinosaurs, just have to keep my current Mondeo XR5 a lot longer (oh dear, what a shame).

Agree with Allanv6gt, MBXR5 with manual over MC ecoboost with auto everytime.

Maybe Ford Australia willl eventually work out that some of us actually enjoy changing gear.

Can't wait to test drive one.
Anyone know when they are hitting the showrooms?
Have heard they are in short supply.

Hello!

I just went for a drive in the new ecoboost, we had a couple arrive a few days ago. Much much better then the old 2.3, finally the torque is available in our petrol engine. This has now really put the cherry on the top for Mondeo. Go out and have a drive!

Supply shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah I think you're right, I was thinking they took pics of the car rather than just putting stock pics up - I had my hopes up for a sec we might be getting new toys ;)
