People really need to get jobs or something. Why is everything a conspiracy, is it so hard to believe that someone just got a gun and shot up a school?

"Fog of war" type errors only feed conspiracies. These happen shortly after something like this happens, when people are still confused.

The main one in this case is the medical examiner saying most kids were "shot with an AR15 assault rifle", yet it was plainly shown on TV after the shootings had happened that police recovered the AR15 from the boot of the guys car, so it obviously hadn't even been used. The only thing this calls into question is the need to ban "assault rifles" if the guy didn't even use one in this case. The onyl "conspiracy" that this would allude to would be that if the shooter had only used the pistols he had and not the assault rifle, then Obama would be up against an even harder time if he said "we need to ban pistols".

It's bit like Martin Bryant and Port Arthur...of course he did it, but the question does still remain as to how he managed to get hold of the AR15 he used, because that firearm had in fact been handed in two years earlier in to police in, I think, South Australia during a gun amnesty and was supposedly destroyed with all the other surrendered guns. That is very odd and should have been looked into further as to how it got into circulation again, but it doesn't mean he didn't commit the crime.

As much as politicians (much like our own here did at the time of Port Arthur when Howard actually said we needed to rush through gun laws quickly "while the public has it fresh in their minds") like to rush laws through and get things done while the public is all upset over something, they should actually do the complete opposite and sit back, let things calm down, and rationally and carefully formulate laws and legislation when everyone has cooled down...that would effectively kill conspiracy idiots ideas dead in their tracks.

I think the gun laws that Howard brought in, while that dreadful massacre was still fresh in the public's mind, was exactly the right thing to do at the time. Nothing galvanises public opinion like the heat of the moment...
