Default Bridgestone RE001

Has anyone here got the Adrenalin RE001's and if so what is your opinion of them. Probably should have asked this question before i ordered them. But then they will definitely be better than the NCT5 and cheaper.

They are probably better than the Contisports people reckon.

Alot of the XR5 peeps like them because they provide good change in direction, with stiffer side walls, good wear and plenty, Plenty of grip. and they arent so loud either.

Good question mudwaa. The Potenza RE001 are awesome and not very expensive for ultra-high performance tyres. They have AMAZING feedback and road feel. As far as road-noise go... it's very minimal.

I've taken corners at twice the recommended speed, the tyres didnt complain/squal like pigs. I can safely say I'm well withing the tyres' grip-threshold.

How do they do in the wet? came home via wisemans ferry, pouring down raining... drove like it's dry... me & my car are still here, not a single scratch.

The Potenza RE001 is definitely better than the Eagle NCT-5, however it'll be more expensive the the Good Year.

EDIT :- Put it this way... a lot of WRX STi owners switched to Potenza RE001 and they're very impressed with the tyres. FYI, the WRX STi comes with Potenza RE070... which without a doubt the best road-tyres you can get. (Michelin Pilot Sport Cup is probably just as good).

I also have the RE001's on my Zetec... they have that much grip, it is near on impossible to get the ABS to activate in the dry, and you have to STOMP on the middle pedal in the wet to make it happen, cornering, well, i can say they grip like a cat to your arms as you are trying to throw them into the pool!!!!!! (not recommended to try that either btw)

They seem to have a pretty solid tread compound also, so even driven really hard, they SHOULD last about 25-35,000km. mine have done about 10,000 and are showering almost ZERO wear. I would expect 50,000+ out of mine.

Oh, and p.s, they grip ok in the mud (Wet dirt road) as well....

quotes for the NCT5's 205/50/17:
kmart tyre cent. $265
Bridgestone tyre cent. $262
O'Neills Gateshead $ 264

All balanced and fitted.

Got the RE001's $242 at Bridgestone Tyre Centre, Mayfield. (Newcastle)

Haha, nice. I hope you'll agree with us on the Potenza RE001. Tell us how they feel.

I had the RE001 on my Focus before she was written off. Much better tyre than NCT5 and also the Eagle F1. I should be getting them on my car once my tyres are up on the Falcon
