OK guys the kids seem to have picked up a MSN virus .... I have found a fix for it but apparently I need to back up the Registry ......
Now Im using XP on this computer and have no idea how to do this ........ Can anyone give me Lisa Proof instructions on how to fix this thing ????? Ohh its the "check whos blocking you" virus :( |

to back up the resgistry is pretty simple.
For 200/XP go START - RUN - regedit. Then Export the registry to your desktop ( so you can find it easily ). Do what the instructions say, making sure that you follow them to the letter, and things should be fine. I would suggest you backup all your critical data ( like emails and pics ) before you start just in case things go wrong. Write the registry and your data to a CD or something so that you can still access it if it goes haywire. I've never needed to restore a registry before... so good luck |
