The Falcon GT Club of SA is proud to announce we will be hosting the Falcon GT Nationals in 2009 here in Adelaide. We have created a stand alone web site at www.falcongtnationals2009.com.au for the sole purpose of promoting this event. We hope it will be the best one ever and are pulling out all stops to make it so. Please visit our website to keep in touch with what is happening, entry forms etc etc before the event.

I wasnt planning in restoring my GT by then, but a GT Nationals in our own State thats not a bad incentive to aim for (not to win).
Have we held the Nationals before? if so when was it?. |

I thought of this for the keen people that dont mind taking there GT's on a trip.
Whyalla is 400km from Adelaide. 1)let loose on the 1/8th mile in Whyalla. 2)a cruise through the Flinders/Clare valley. 3)a day at Mallala. 4)a show a shine in the city. Just a few ideas to pass on to anyone that might be interested. Cheers Cameron. |

G'day to all interested in the 13th Falcon GT Nationals coming to Adelaide over Easter 10-13 April 2009,celebrating the 40th anniversary of the first Falcon GTHO. This event is hosted every 2 years by a different state with the most recent being held by the Western Australian club in Perth last Easter (www.gtnationals.asn.au).
This event will be 10 years since Adelaide hosted its first Falcon GT Nationals in 1999. The event planning is progressing very well, accomodation, dinner venue and show'n'shine venues all booked and are located in the city centre. The City of Adelaide is a 1 mile square and surrounded by parklands. Cruising, motorsport day and recreational activities are still in the think tank and any suggestions would be considered. This event is open to all Falcon GT's, any model XR to BF, unrestored, restored, modified, historic race cars, every day drivers, concourse, old barn finds, if it was made as a Falcon GT bring it along. |

1)Whyalla might be to much to fit into a four day event, (but we do have 5-6 guys coming up to do the 1/8 mile later this year). 2)The Barrossa or Mclaren Vale have been suggested(close to Adeliade). 3)Mallala and A.I.R are definitley on the drawing board. 4)Show'n'shine planning for in the city confirmed. Keeping close to the city for most activities as half the entrants will have already travelled 800 to 2500km to get to the event. |

Up until now the EB, EL, BA, BF have been together in the new era class, but as the EB is getting along in age this subject will be up for discussion at the National Delegates conference next March. Good point, keep your suggestions coming. Will be great to see your 2 cars in '09! |

Hi There,
I have been asked to head over to Adelaide for National meeting as a Rep for the Fairmont GT at the Nationals. We are hoping to have at least 30-40 GT's in Adelaide but there is alot still to be discussed. We only had 4 cars at the last Nats with then all being from WA but alot are finishing there rebuilds & our Eastern State brothers should make the journey to fly the flag for Adelaide. Were a pretty passionate group of enthusiest. We look forward to catch up with you ALL. Regards Boxy Site Admin www.fairmontgt.com Quote:

The reason i asked is the GT clubs only represent at the very most 10% of all remaining GT's out there in garages and on the roads. In the past this rule has meant that we missed out on seeing so many rare and interesting GT's who were owned by people who either werent a member of a club or didnt want to be a member of a club. Sadly Club memberships are on the decline...., so the only way to get as many GT's to the nationals as possible is to open it up to everyone with a Genuine car.

I think the point is being missed here.
The GT Nationals is the national concourse for the Falcon GT Clubs around Australia. That's what it has always been about. And if non club owners are so keen to join in, then why don't they then join a club, and they will be most welcome to participate.
