Default editing

hello,

why does it only let you edit for a few minutes after you posted, often i see a spelling mistake in one of my post and i go to edit it and i can't see an edit option there anymore?

Bloody Nora

You post at 11.24 and expect a reply in minutes? We are not a 24 hour service!!!!

Editing of posts have an expirey period because we have found that people will take advantage of an open time frame and remove or back pedal on posts.

You have x period to edit, enough time for a proof read and then its closed, edits are to be then directed through the moderator of the that forum or an admin

Gary

the reason i was expecting a response because i saw 6 mods in the "site support" room down on the right corner.assuming they were logged on.

anyway, silly idea about the editing, i haven't seen this sort of rule in other forums, but i can see the point.

Fair Enough, your not confusing mods with DM though?

I am member of some 20plus various forums, all have an edit time out period.

I am happy to review ours out by xx time but it will never be open

no DM's are on the left side and the MODs are on the right side of the bottom of the page on the right hand side, makes sense..?hhah

30 minutes would be nice,i don't always check my reply straight away as i move on to other threads, then i go back to a post to see replys and there it is a silly "typo" that doesn't make sense, then i can't edit it.

That's just to show which moderators moderate that particular forum, they may or may not be logged on at the time, if they are it will show up on the left with the other members (this confused me at first too)
