Default Top Gear Season 14

Just a reminder to all that season 14 has started in the UK, Downloaded it this morning and just watched it. Fantastic as usual, the 3 boys drive a V12 Aston Martin, Lambo Giardo and Ferrari California around Romania. But the highlight was Eric Bana as the star in the reasonably priced car. Just wish he had of corrected Clarkson on the pronunciation of Bathurst. So glad it has started up again.

Depends on how you look at it.

While I find it irritating the way they pronounce it, the area is named after a British Lord - who's name you most likely pronounce the way they pronounce it. So it's quite likely us that need to be corrected.

Yeah, and we'll be pronouncing butter as 'Bu'a' if we follow that line of thought.

We pronounce it the way we pronounce it, this is Bathurst NSW Australia and not the British Lord, and Clarkson should have been corrected. There, I said it. Not that he cares.

But then how DO we pronounce it? Most people I know pronunce it - 'baath-ust', but guys like Greg Murphy and some others pronounce it 'baath-hurst', with some emphasis on the leading 'h' of the 'hurst'.

So who really knows....but Clarkson is always wrong, even when he's right, right?

Murphy pronounces it Baaaaaahhhhhhhhthurst. Probably because it reminds him of his previous wooly lovers.
