Hi all,
Just thought id ask if anyone has gone through or even knows about this sneaky and ridiculous new rule that came in about a year ago. Based on my discussion with vicroads today, they/police are well within their rights to defect any vehicles without a mod plate. If the car community was ever going to stand up for something it should probably be this. Victoria now require engineering cert ($2k+) to certify an unmodified vehicle. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...TBcpIoZtCrtK4K Last edited by Jack91; 08-08-2023 at 08:34 PM. |

I did also notice a new clause in the unregistered vehicle permits which is equally as dumb.
If you are driving a lhd car on a uvp, they require a fully competent driver in the right hand front seat to help observe traffic. Once its registered though (once you have your vass cert of course, cos safety first) then the backup person isnt required. Is this even real? Who the hell comes up with this crap? |

Vehicles manufactured before 1969 only require a VASS if the vehicle has modifications requiring an approval certificate. Fine for me as I don't think there would be too many people who would want a post 1969 L/H/D Ford anyways?
As stated above, if a VASS in not required for full registration, there is always that option available. Last edited by bartaxr8; 11-08-2023 at 11:47 AM. |
