Default Leather interior question

Hi guys,

I've come across a leather interior out of an AUII Fairlane. I imagine the seats are a straight swap into an AUII XR6... but is there a harness under the carpet to plug the electrics in to?

Besides the electrics, are the seats structurally any different to the leather optioned in the XRs?

Cheers,

Ian

Post #5- talks about "wiring for the electric front seats".
Not sure if Forte are different to XR tho.

Thanks Mont.

Anyone elaborate on putting this into XR and mods required for the electrics?

Cheers

i think you'll find the back seat is a little different... as the fairlane is longer between the back door and rear wheel arch, door trims are the same tho... i just wired my au2 fairmont seats to the power source just below the central locking button on the dash, seats just had a black and a blue wire coming out, pretty self explanatory i think

Fourl6,

Thanks for pointing that out. I'll keep looking out for leather out of an XR I think.

Cheers.

my back seat came out of a wreck and the passenger side cushions where squashed. So i swapped the leather 'covers' over to the existing cushions, a bit time consuming but end result was good. Maybe do the same if your frames and cushions are in good condition and you dont want the electrics?

The fairlane seat being long wheel base will make your legs come a bit closer to the back of the front seats (not too much) but apart from that it is all the same mount points ect.
The forte doesnt have the wiring loom for the electric seats (not sure bout the XR's?) but all you need is a constant 12v and eath (take this off the cigarette lighter as it has a high current rating already) do the seats have memory?
if they do you wont be able to use it as its hooked in with the BEM and side mirrors ect and is imo not woth the hassle if your the main person who drives the car.
Also does it have the seatbelt pretensioner unit on the fairlane seats?
Do the same as mont5.0 suggested with the side bolsters till you get them tucked in and looking right.
