Default Is this the towbar?

Strange question but my wife's new car has arrived and we now don't have a towbar... or do we?

Is this flimsy looking thing the 1600kg towbar?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say no. Have you got any other pictures or where the said towbar would join etc?
I'm sure some of the forum goers would be able to give you an accurate answer though.

Don't think so. If it is it should have some mounting point for the tounge.

Well I guess it is a tow bar. All you need is the tongue and ball that bolts to it. Remove the plastic piece on the bumper.

Yeah that's all fine but to thicken the plot I bought the tongue off Ford ($60) and it's way too short. Rang them to see what is what and it's the one they have listed is for AU2/3 1600kg towbar... which is what prompted my question.

If that is a support for a towbar you may be lucky to tow about 100kg.

thats not a towbar... its just where to support the spare wheel holder... i brought a 1600kg towbar from a wreckers down hear for $100... you have to remove that brace and your rear bar, then bolt it in about 5 different places...

Cheers Cam

it's the place a towbar will go once you buy one. is it an AU?
this is pretty much what my red one looks like and it don't have a towbar
my white one does have a towbar and the tongue is about 40cm long and it's about 10 times thicker than that sheetmetal looking bracket.
PS is that regency red?
if so, can i have the tow bar cover when you get one please?
I pey cesh.

Thanks mate, got it sorted.

It's Barossa Red.
I got the cover from Ford for $15 (+ can paint from Autobarn).

I'll probably hang onto it ;)
