Hi all,
Is anyone else getting a warning after they post, that they have to wait X amount of seconds even though you only do it once? It is strange. I get that warning and then refresh the page and my post is there. |

It just happened again for me. Sometimes I post and don't see it but definitely only hitting the button once when I see it.

Yes, I’ve been getting that on an iPad. I don’t think it’s been happening on the laptop though.

Not sure if related but the following is a very recent issue for me...
I haven't been getting a warning but i have been getting a long delay (up to 45 seconds) between submitting a reply and the reply actually posting, i ended up with a double post the other day and have noticed the same from a few other posters..... Edit: This is on my non apple laptop.....

Mine's just a long delay between pushing submit and it actually showing but no warning signs. I thought it was just the wireless broadband slowing it down.

I haven't been getting the warning message but have certainly noticed a delay between trying to post a new post and when it actually gets processed over the last few days. That's on my Windows laptop and Android phone, but assumed it was related to my internet as I have been having some slowness issues on the laptop over the same duration.

I have also noticed extremely slow posting over the last two weeks, no warning though.
I had assumed it was my internet connection at fault.

I have an impatient workaround that is about 75% effective.
If a post seems chronically slow to materialise, I try to preview it after submitting. When this works it usually shows your post in the list of existing posts, so you know it’s already been lodged. Then simply close the window and re-open the forum front page. |

Yeah, over ten years without a double post for me, I have holstered the IPhone after two this week. OK on the PC.

Here are the headers from my posts, an ajaxqrfailed=1 value is posted which I'm presuming means that the quickreply ajax is failing? It might explain the double posting too, the ajax quickreply succeeds but reports it's failed which then triggers the fallback but ends up with the doublepost warning?

I've made some code changes as it looks as if the Ajax request fails because the script is calling mixed-mode content. Not sure if the solution I have implemented is an absolute fix but I'll keep testing.

Yep I had it again today too. So far I have not noticed anything consistent when it happens so the scenario can be replicated.
I certainly know how much a pain in the **** these issues can be to fix |

Hey Russ. I have been using dev tools before I have been replying and caught some errors while getting the post warning.
There was a HTTP 404 on https://www.fordforums.com.au/dbtech...es/mention.png There were numerous blocked requests for various images. Eg https://www.fordforums.com.au/logos/135.gif. https://www.fordforums.com.au/newrep...ply&t=11483367. Definitely mixed content as your were saying. A sample is. <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> _NEW = new Cbnr('_NEW'); _NEW.bnr("IMAGE", "/logos/135.gif", 10, 75, 350, "http://clixtrac.com/goto/?100984", "Motor Active", "60");_NEW.bnr("IMAGE", "/logos/95.gif", 10, 75, 163, "http://www.mainlinedynolog.com.au/", "Mainline Dynolog", "25");_NEW.bnr("IMAGE", "/logos/96.gif", 10, 75, 385, "http://www.pacemaker.com.au/", "Pacemaker", "26");_NEW.bnr("IMAGE", "/logos/59.gif", 10, 75, 520, "http://www.racebrakessydney.com.au/", "RBS", "13");_NEW.bnr("IMAGE", "/logos/34.gif", 10, 75, 405, "http://www.bluepower.com.au/", "BPR", "5");_NEW.bnr("IMAGE", "/logos/31.gif", 10, 75, 300, "http://aslautomedia.com.au", "ASL", "1");_NEW.bnr("IMAGE", "/logos/32.gif", 10, 75, 131, "http://www.autotechengineering.com.au/", "Autotech", "4");_NEW.bnr("IMAGE", "/logos/138.gif", 10, 75, 341, "www.shockworks.com.au", "Shockworks", "63");_NEW.bnr("IMAGE", "/logos/108.gif", 10, 75, 385, "http://www.castlehillperformance.com.au/", "CHE", "35");_NEW.bnr("IMAGE", "/logos/82.gif", 10, 75, 435, "http://www.pitlaneautomotive.com/", "Pitlane Performance", "17");_NEW.bnr("IMAGE", "/logos/124.gif", 10, 75, 300, "http://clixtrac.com/goto/?50611", "Bendix", "49");_NEW.bnr("IMAGE", "/logos/55.gif", 10, 75, 585, "http://www.kpmauto.com/", "KPM", "11");_NEW.bnr("IMAGE", "/logos/160.jpg", 10, 75, 245, "www.mr-fpv.com", "MR FPV", "81");_NEW.bnr("IMAGE", "/logos/148.gif", 10, 75, 200, "http://www.furiousperformance.com.au/", "Furious Performance", "69");_NEW.bnr("IMAGE", "/logos/44.gif", 10, 75, 320, "http://www.stingraycar.com.au/", "Stingray", "7");_NEW.bnr("IMAGE", "/logos/165.jpg", 100, 55, 500, "https://cumberlandford.com.au/", "Cumberland Ford", "90");_NEW.bnr("IMAGE", "/logos/143.gif", 10, 75, 529, "www.cmssydney.com.au", "Crescent Motorsport", "66"); document.write(_NEW); _NEW.start(); </script> |

I just had it again. The traffic in the network tab is blocked by Adblock Plus extension. I think that might be at least partly answers the question since after disabling it there is a ad banner which has those images that were blocked. So now the _NEW.bnr makes sense.
How many of us are using Adblock Plus? Last edited by MITCHAY; 04-12-2020 at 10:01 PM. |

Both of those should be fixed now. One is an error for an old plugin we don't use any more and the other is the old (and unused) sponsors page.

I just got the warning again with ADP disabled.
Though on reflection (I was pretty ****ed before) I always had that on before so it shouldn't make a difference with it blocking resources anyway. The mystery continues. |

If it is of any assistance, I haven't noticed any change to the delay since any of the possible fixes were implemented. Still very slow.
Not sure if this is related or not, but I also had a very slow response to clicking the 'Post Reply' button today. Not sure how long it took to respond as I switched screens after waiting about 10 seconds. But, that may have been a network issue at my end.
