Default Electrical issues.

I've got a problem.
I can't turn the ute off if my foot is on the brake.
When i turn it off with my feet off all pedals...the brake lights stay on.
and when off if i put my foot on the break the dash lights, fuel and temp gauges spring to life
The break light switch is not faulty.
When i pulled out the tail light and brake light fuses the lights stayed on...
Any one got any ideas?

I Wouldn't have a clue sorry , sounds like its a mess ! .

But maybe start by checking all ya fuses with a multimeter and also make sure noting has melted/shorted across to another terminal behind the plastic fuse mounts / behind the fuse panel .

Start by finding out what fuse there on. Pull one out, if lights don't go out, go to next fuse, and so on. If all come out, good luck to ya

disconnected the trailer plug....problem stopped. WTF!?!?!?!

False alarm....but it appears if i hit the break pedal at just the rightmoment the whole lot will turn off.

Dodgey breaklight switch?

Hi

Totally disconnect the trailer harness. Have a look inside the trailer harness connectors to see if they are shorting. Trailer harness are pretty clost to the top of the list as far as weird lighting faults are concerned.

Leave the trailer harness disconnected while carrying out what Gilesie suggested above. (Very good suggestion)

ok ... before you said you disconnected the plug for the trailer , then it was ok ./ then you said false alarm , but everything goes off if the brake pedal is pressed at the right time ? ..

Can you clear all this up a bit and tell us what you have connected/disconnected and whats exactelly happening / clearly , maybe able to help then.

ok, to clear things up.

Turned ute off....break lights still on.
pulled the break light and tail light fuses. no joy.
pulled the taillight relay no joy.
put them all back in.
pulled the trailer and reversing light plugs...light went off after a bit.
put foot on break pedal..no cluster or tail lights.
started the ute put foot on break pedal break lights came on, turned off ute and knocked the break pedal everything turned off... tried again and accidentially knocked the break pedal..everything turned off.
tried a 3rd time this time making sure not to knock the break pedal, break lights stayed on...but cluster lights not on when i pushed the break pedal and ignition is off.

some aftermarket stuff for my driving lights...disconnected that circuit and no change.
the driving light circuit has been there for well over 6months, first problem today.

the ute had the tub sandblasted under warranty from ford....if they didn't remove teh tub from the tray (which i now have reason believe they didnt) would the dust be causing an issue somewhere? :
