For those who are so sure Wheels is totally holden biased.
About a squillion pages of Falcon from the beginning until current day showing the international influences, local designs and most interestingly direct comparos against holden and mopar showing the Falcon to have been ahead of holden almost all the way. Bloody good read. |

Yep, a good read. I had a good Day at the Proving Ground for the Photo Shoot, my EF XR6 made a guest appearance.

OMG!
How can you say any of the aussie magazine aren't so totally, like, biased to Holden(Daewoo, amiright!) You can totally tell there bias because Fords don't win anything, and they don't drive them right, even when the Ford is the mostest superior car going around.... Even when they say something good about ford, they always manage to point out Holdens may have good points.. I think you need to read harder inbetween the lines. /sarcasm off

Ah yes but a huge butt ugly pic of the "faclifted VE" on the front cover with something about ford falcons 50th anniversary tucked underneath. However credit where credit is due, inside was a great read and comprehensive detail on the history of the Falcon which many Falcon admirers would enjoy

Even if it's argued that's because the Commodore is the top selling car in Oz, I can't imagine Wheels doing the same screamer headline for Toyota as the top selling carmaker if the next Corolla (#2 seller) or Hilux (often #3) is approaching facelift time and Commodore is approaching another badge birthday. Cynical? Possibly, but I'm sure Holden don't outlay big $ for the first ad in Wheels on pages 2-3 each month and not get SOME scratch-my-back advantage... |

Yeah, Wheels does do that a lot with their comgen guesses (mind you, whoever is doing the photo-shopping is pretty good at it).
The Ford spread itself is pretty good, nice to see some detailed attention. My only gripe is that it should have been a seperate liftout. I remember a few years back when Mitsubishi released the 380, and Wheels actully printed a seperate 30 odd page liftout - not many cars keep the same badge for 50 years, they should have done the same. |

I liked it. What I didn't like was the error of having the BA XR6 picture on the bottom left of page 78 which was supposed to be the EB. Ruined the timeline!

While I really enjoyed it, I was quite annoyed that a major milestone for a marque played second banana to a 'Scoop' on a 'New Commodore'.
We've only had countless incorrect reports on Holden through Wheels and Motor...Falcon turning 50 is known and guaranteed. I would have thought that one of the world's oldest car brands would have an entire cover dedicated to it. Heaven knows it deserves it. Irrespective, I really enjoyed the article.

A great read, but yes, it should have been the main focus for the front cover. There were a few information errors for AU and BA sections I noticed. For example they refered to the BA XT as a Forte. They state the 220kW AUII/III XR8's had alloy heads. They also claim the BA Barra 6 had a new block. I know there is a lot of information to cover in such a small space (Each generation could fill a book with info) but they are a dedicated car mag, that covered the release of each model in impressive detail when new, so these muck-ups should not have been made.
Picky I know, but I'm a stickler for deatil. |

There is a pic on Falcon Facts that looks identical. I reckon that they think Ford made a car exactly the same as the BA, in 1991, is a slightly larger error. |

No wait, that's another magazine. Umm, this one I'll buy for the articles.

Will have to pop into town later and grab myself a copy.
But gee there are some serial whingers on here... 'oh a commodore made the cover' boo hoo. There are A LOT more important things in life than the cover of a magazine. Bridge building time people!

Covers are about selling magazines, not about what is inside. Obviously it must mean having a Commodore on the cover sells more magazines, simple.

the bite if there are seen to be too many Ford articles and not enough Holden ones. Don't be surprised if this edition has fairly low sales compared to editions full of Holden stuff... |

Have had it for a week and now and for those who care to pull their heads out of their own dark personal cavities it is quite a good read. For those who still wish to whinge and ***** and moan and carry on, please keep buying the odd issue here and there because it is oh so much fun to watch you jump on here and make complete fools of yourself.
