3.7 will pick up a bit, If you were wheel spinning (assuming you were) then slicks will help.
The only downside to slicks is they tend to drag the engine down a bit. But saying that, if you are running 12.4, then i'd say your engine is very healthy.
Where did you run this time and what MPH??

113 with a good solid 1.8sec 60 should see 11.8

I run 11.7 at 115 1.75 60ft on a slick tyre

But have run 11.57 at 115 with a 1.65 60 ft. First 60ft makes a lot of difference.

Not necessarily. Usually slower by a smidgen when it grips up.
I'm with walkinshaw, around 11.8.

My old 351 went 1.70 sixty foot, with 11.9 at 112.78.
Still, nice results mate.

Nice work mate! and with a real gearbox

As mentioned, launching with slicks will drag the revs down a bit on launch, so don't be a granny or you'll stall it...especially with 3.25's!! Get your right foot into it and go hard!! Lotsa revs is a good thing!!!

That being said, high rev clutch dumps with tall gearing and slicks won't do your clutch any favours, so I'd wait for the lower diff gears.

Car setup doesn't always effect the mph too much...you can have a much quicker ET but run the same mph. Basically, setup determines how quick you get off the line and engine power determines how fast you are at the other end. Bit hard to get your head around that at first.

I have run similiar Mph in a street trim 351 XB and managed a best of 12.0's consistantly.Diff ratio is 4.1's though. What you may find if you change ratios and if you haven't got enough HP you may only drop a few 1/10's and loose MPH.Pretty sure a XB weighs more than a XY so you might dip into a high 11 with a perfect run.
