Hey guys, i have a completly stock ba fairmont ghia and im taking it up to willowbank on saturday (any one wanna come??).
I was wondering if anyone can offer me some in site into the kinda time im gonna run? To my knowledge the GHIA'S have a 3.41 final drive ratio. Im gonna put some 100 octane petrol in it, and i think the fastest way to get it off the line would be to just load it up on the torque converter and on the last yellow light let it rip (there is no risk of wheel spin, i have supper soft tyres), should i leave it in performance mode??? Is 100 octane petrol a good idea? any othere quick fix mods i can do to make it a bit quicker?? Also my mates are gonna race me, one has a holden 's' ute (v6), auto, stock (2001, 40k, RWD, 152kw, LSD, 4speed auto. and my other has a mitsubishi sports, auto, stock! (2002, 120k, FWD 163KW 5speed auto) im a little worried that they might beat me, should i be?? I'm sure they will beat me off the line (GOD MY CAR IS SLUGISH) but when it hits 'boost' (no its not a turbo) it should make up for it!! Any help would be great thanks, REGARDS JAMIE! |

overpressurise the front tyres (50psi), run 35-40 on the rears, take out air filter and BOTH pollution hoses on top of the rocker cover (block them off with clamps or a bolt), run BP ultimate 98 octane, take out back setas, spare tyre, clamp, run 1/4 tank of fuel MAX and if u wanna get even more serious, run a 10% blend of methylated spirits with your fuel (as it is 98%ethanol , it will bump up your power abit)
stall to 1500rpm and take off on the last orange light good luck ;)
