Sadly so... but what markets would take a RHD Explorer...and with the F-150 local conversion it's the Expedition that runs on the same platform to a point as the F-150.
China builds their own Explorer (in LHD) so maybe they could be a source of RHD....and frankly imho the Chinese market Explorer looks better.

How many vans in this category are sold? Seems to be a saturated market and bugger all of them on the road. As in, passenger/luxury version of LDV, Mercedes Vito, VW transporter, Hyundai H100, Kia Carnaval.

Was about to post the same.

So, Ford could never supply enough Escape, Focus, Fiesta, Transit and Mondeo for the Australian market, so what's going to change with this thing? And what company or buyer is going to sit and wait 12 to 18 months for a vehicle like this? Then, they will drop the model entirely because of low demand, then screw up the resale for those who actually got one delivered.

I just don't get it. Ford have people yelling out for a variety of Ford models..............Explorer, Bronco, Bronco Sport, Maverick, Mustang. There was even demand for the Escape but people simply gave up and went and bought something else...................and yet, THIS thing is what they decide to bring to Australia.

And I don't want to hear a word about "......but RHD was not factored into the engineering......" or "......apparent lack of volume potential......." because nearly every other car company on the planet can design, engineer and then produce any given model in RHD and LHD and still make money. There is absolutely no excuse for Ford deciding to limit key high-profile models to the US/LHD markets other than being cheap.

But hey, if you can't be bothered waiting two years for a panel van with some seats bolted in, we can sell you a Ranger. It's completely different to the car you were interested in, so some passengers will have to ride in the tray, but Ranger is the easiest way for us to make money, so take it or leave it.

Oh, and I'm still waiting for Ford to acknowledge that I have been waiting 17 months for a car, or if they intend to build the bloody thing. I guess I should just give up and buy a Ranger.

Carnival is an absolute beast, its the pinnacle of people movers.

Who remembers when it used to be a real flogger shitbox in the mid 00s, then the previous generation came out and it turned into some luxo-minivan, looked absolutely mint, wicked drivetrain with a 3.3L V6 option and a mint 2.4L diesel engine.

It’s a nice vehicle but as others have said, there are higher priorities that are not being addressed.
Ford Europe has waved the red flag on Fiesta, Focus, even Escape, we can’t get Puma stock
so what’s the point of having Ford Europe supply Australia NewZealand if they can’t do it….

Yep we had a rental one for a week, base model i'd say. Anyway, I couldn't fault it really, it did the job it is intended to do and they seem to be selling quite well because of it.

Im told that it was enough to push the batch build down the list, absolutely maddening
and no wonder why Ford Europe sees Australia as a PITA customer, New Zealand not so much..

Agree, I'm Anti-SUV (I don't have kids, wife, boat, caravan, et al all the reasons to buy SUV) but I like the American full-size SUVs like the Explorer and the Suburban.

The only two good ones, and we don't get them, they're big, with large capacity engines, or boost.

I am weird but would like to see this trim in the shorter wheelbase, so basically the same but no 3rd row.
A glorified station wagon I guess.
Have never owned a Van but think they could be cool if done right with AWD and decent power.
You can get commercial vans with the 2nd row but they are still commercial with most of the interior trim missing.
This would be the opposite being passenger 1st with all the interior trim, but the ability to fold up the 2nd row when needed for odd jobs.
It would be an alternative to a Dual Cab in a different way esp if not intending to go off road ect. But definitely not saying they would sell many.
